Glass Cow Dash is a game about a cowgirl named Wilma. She wants to become the fastest person to finish the not so popular unstable Glass Maze by charging in headfirst, literally. It's rumored there is an incredible prize if she beats the set record! What could it be? Beat the game to find out! screen1.png

How to Play Use arrow keys to move. Hold and release the direction to dash Wilma in a set direction. Reach the exits to win.

The dash gauge is unstable and may change the charge randomly. Don't hit the walls too much or the entire maze will come crumbling down!

Pretty fun game you got here! Huge congrats for completing it, especially Solo. It's super hard, but you've nailed it!

I didn't manage to complete the game, I stopped on level 4 because otherwise I wouldn't have time left to write this haha.

What I liked the most: style, feedbacks, how everything is thoroughly explained through good level design.

What I think could be improved: I feel like you've taken too much of the player's control, and it can be frustrating to just want to take a small step to the side and you have to go all the way to that side because the meter said so. I ended up frustrated sometimes because I just wanted to move like a meter, and I felt like it was just because I wasn't lucky enough. Maybe if the meter would go down slowly after completely filling it would give the player some agency back, while not removing the instability from the mechanic. What do you think?

I had a lot of issues with the movement charging being really inconsistent to the point where moving around was virtually impossible. Sometimes the charge meter would fill up on the first frame, other times it would take 3 or 4 seconds to fill, which made moving around quite frustrating.

Love the sounds and the character design is uh, nice.

Solid game, wish the gameplay was a little less frustrating :(

I like the idea, dashing through a maze whilst avoiding the walls makes for a solid game! All of the collectibles and powerups help make the game more engaging too, and it was all pretty clear and well explained what each of them did and how they affected the game, so good job on communicating that! The little visual elements you added were great too, like your character shaking as you charged up, or the different sound effects when you let go, the particles when you hit a wall, they all made the game more fun. Having a characacter was also really nice, and a little bit of story; it's always good to have context in a game, and it helps add personality too! This was a fun game, so well done on making it! Hope you enjoy the lousy t-shirt you got after making the game ;) !

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who was more...self-indulgent with their choice of protagonist XD

I like the concept here, but it's really frustrating that you can't see how far your dash is going to take you, only guess at it. I got stuck at the end of level 3 because I couldn't "thread the needle" right before the exit; I kept crashing into the left and right walls (or dizzying myself out trying to make the necessary small adjustments ^_^;) Some kind of visual indicator where your dash will land would make this game a lot more playable.

Creative idea and and a unique way to incorporate the theme! And great art too, as expected! The music was also nice, and I loved the inclusion of cowbell lol. Great job!

As a Touhou fan, I'd say this game is impressive! I pretty like the art-style of cow waifu (lol) and the bold but very creative game design. Trying to let the player accept the randomness in the game and find the best strategy to utilize is super fun! Overall a great mini game!
