Unstable Tables : Tales Of A Super Hero Waiter by paulhocker
The city is filled with Unstable Tables, and only the Super Hero Waiter of the city can save them. With his trusty Table Stabler Series 7 he can find the kitchen items he needs to save the day.
Description
Unstable Tables is a Match 3 game set in a town that is filled with tables that wobble. Go to different locations around town with your trusty TS7, play a game of Match 3 to find the items you need to make the table stable again. Your TS7 is not the most stable machine, and the more Hot Chili peppers you match, there is a good chance that your system might shut down.
Can you save all the tables in the city?
Can your TS7 last the whole game?
All these questions and more can be answered if you play the game.

I do not know if there is a bug, or I'm doing something wrong, but every time I go to the game, the timer does not start and both score and item I collect are not counted. Anyway, I like the art style and the cheery music is nice!
P.S. I clicked Go before the waiter stopped talking, that could have been the problem. Great idea!
I could tell this was a Godot game while I was playing because it has the same occasional audio glitches my games suffer from, so glad I'm not alone in that. Perhaps one day we'll find a cure...
I love Match3 games, though, and if it hadn't crashed I would have beat this game. Unfortunately, the music is nice but a bit repetitive and the controls feel just a bit, have-to-wait-for-the-animations-to-finish-but-there's-no-animations in the match 3 segments. The chili peppers weren't all that threatening except in chain reactions from the newly-spawned pieces at the top. Whether or not pieces had gravity felt a little inconsistent at times.
Still, good work!
I like the music and the sound effects are pleasant. The kitchen items also look nice. No major criticisms come to mind, just that some other games are more innovative and have stronger connections to the theme.
I did see one small issue, where two new items dropped down, and they got matched with (what seemed like) an item that was just above the board but out of view. Otherwise there were no real other bugs or issues though!
I thought the little waiter man was cute and I liked the level chooser screen. Overall, really well done, I played it for a lot more levels than I expected I would because I'm typically really bad at matching games!!
Although after one level it just crashed with the audio weirding out
But super nice. And while not exactly clear what to do from the start it's very easy to pick up from the first playthrough.
The soundtrack is excellent!
Gameplay-wise, I would've liked to have some kind of pumped-up risk/reward with combos - maybe the points earned scale up with a multiplier or something, but the heat built by chilis grows in the same way? I always like trying to set up big combinations in these sorts of games, but it didn't feel like it had much of an impact on winning / losing.
There's a little quality-of life things I like in these sorts of games that would be cool to see if you're looking to do more dev on this one: being able to lock in your next move while the current combo is still finishing is super nice when I'm just clearing out a couple of small sets, really helps keep the pace of the game moving fast.
I did have an issue like some of the other folks mentioned - a crash pretty late in the game. We'll just say it's all part of the theme :D
Anyway, nice work on this one. I think you did a good job taking a classic sort of concept and putting it together from scratch in a fun, bright package!
Haven't played match3 for a pretty long time ;D
Liked the step-by-step tutorial. Cool match3 mechanics (though sometimes I was suggested to match peppers, which as I understood is bad), and waiter-style visual & elements.
Music & sounds are super good. Well done!
