Evil Ghost chasing by Benlitz

[raw]
made by Benlitz for LD33 (COMPO)
Evil Ghost chasing the peaceful dot-eater let you play the role of an evil ghost, in a world where a peaceful dot-eater eats dots.
Catch him if you can! But beware, some dots are magic and if the dot-eater eats them, he will be able to kill you! But ghost cannot really die, eheh...
If the dot-eater eats all the dots, you will lose. Good luck!

(yes it's an FPS Pacman where you play the ghost)

Nice idea, I like how you can barely see above the maze. That freaking Pacman ball is realy scary when you are vulnerable. The game is too easy though. Keep up the good work !

It crashes for me. Gives an error about some router connection etc.

I like it! Lots of focus on optimizing your movement and cutting around corners. Kind of makes me think of if the ghosts in Pacman were cheating, haha.

Crashes as soon I try to play. Error is
[RouterClient]: Error: Could not connect to connection router using mode Connect: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:31244
...which I think might be the game and Windows' firewall not getting along.

I won't be able to play this one sadly (only have Win in a VM with DX9 support) but fun to see a different rendition of reverse pac man. I, and several others…, made a similar entry ;)

Pretty cool. I also get the firewall issue, but I could just move the window off to the side. Seeing the top of pac-man above the maze was smart, though I would love if the powerpellets had a little beacon of light so you could see them above the maze too, and didn't have to remember where they were, or if they had already been eaten.

It crashed when I won once. It's nice, but lacks polish and better AI

Haha, great title. The game feels simple, but you had an idea and you executed it. All this could use would maybe be some juicing up and polish I guess, but that's extra, and this is also just compo anyway! Taking the gameplay itself further might require getting a little more creative. The original Pacman game was pretty simple, after all.

Pacman does a good job of trying to avoid me, even turning 180 degrees around like a real player would! He only loses when he tries to outrun me!

Nice job! :)

So simple but great idea. You did the job very well. Making this a 3D game makes you tiny in this not so difficult maze.

Simple game, solid concept. The graphics are minimal, I like the direction-based audio. I would love to see more content, well done!
