About

Simple little game with some strange platforms floating in the space. For some reason there are mad robotic bulls on those platforms. We need that cool piece of technology and that's why you get into the game. The bad thing is that they are too heavy so when they run the parts of the platform cramble and fall into the space.

The Game

The game has procedurally generated terrain (each game is different!) Also have a robo-bulls that are pretty skilled in path finding. Bulls are a bit hostile but they don't kill you. They just try to push you out of the platform or at least to a pond of radioactive acid.

Disclaimer

I didn't have as much time as I wanted this weekend. I planned to make a simple game but I failed in that again :) Don't be too harsh, it's a compo after all.

Anyway, it's not that simple so I spent a lot of time by coding and thus it's not that well designed as I wanted. Levels are generated so it can happen that you have no chance to finish it :) But don't worry, you have as many shots as you like.

Nice game. I like your teleport sound. Keep up the good work.

Completed the game. Are the levels procedurally generated? Some iteration was impossible to pass

@kromeboy yes, it's procedurally generated. You need some luck sometime but you have as many tries as you need.

Hi Jirko, you have a really cool game here. It's harder than it looks :D . Again, the atmosphere and sounds are amazing. Just like all of your games. Maybe I'm a noob, but some generated levels were really hard, and it was almost insta-death for. But overall, pretty sweet game.

@iluvatar Thanks! Yeah, sometimes it can be unfair or you won't even have a chance to finish it. But you have as many shots as you like. I didn't have much time this weekend so I didn't want to do any level design, it's too time consuming ;) So levels are not too clever but they are unique, no one else played the same game as you did!

Strong graphics, decent sound, the random generated terrain was my favorite part. The look and feel was really nice. The Random generation made me win at times and lose at others. I knew that if i kept going i'd get a good roll and the metal bulls wouldn't have a chance. And so it was. I win! roll out the bottles!

REally cool entry you got there and great job in doing all of this during compo! But after all I would have one complaint or a bug to report. I am an abstinent just for the record, but it seems that the champaigne did not arrive even after the second playthru :P Great job!

@jin9310 lol I didn't expect any one will play it twice :) You know, it was a compo so I didn't have time for champaigne implementation - so no champaigne, sorry about that :( Maybe next time :) Anyway, I'm glad you like it!

I love how the concept is so simple but it adds up to a really fun game! Particularly liked the different objectives for each level :D One thing I noticed is that you seem to move faster diagonally, not sure if that was a bug or a feature, but didn't detract from the fun!

Hey nice game, fun idea and fun to play! There would be more harder levels and more content, but the base here is really exciting. The level where i see the bull go in different direction and disappear, was really fun and also a bit creepy at the same time!

There could be some variety, like able to place objects to block ways, or even fall some blocks with player character, or able to dash-movement for the bull or player or even both. Sometimes on the level the goal of destroying the bull would be interesting too.

Nice graphics you have here too; more detailed while you have implemented different type of basic platform tiles. The name is misleading though, while i though i can hunt the some bulls down.

This is a fun game. I liked the procedural generation, and the idea was pretty cool. I think if you leaned further into the idea, it could have been even better. The bulls could have dealt more knockback, that way it was more essential to avoid them. I liked the graphics, they seemed pretty unique, and the sounds were decent. Nice job for a compo entry!

The champagne is a lie! Anyway, great game, I especially liked the sounds.

Nice art and sounds, the robobull walking and collapsing floor is especially nice sounding :)
I taught it would turn into more of a puzzle game where you try to walk in a correct pattern to get to the exit but since everything gets regenerated on death it was more about luck. Which is not bad, I still enjoyed it.

@barrier Yeah, it was an initial idea but I didn't have a lot of time that weekend so I just made it randomly generated and put only different objectives. Puzzle game would need some clever level design that was too much for my time constraints. Glad you enjoyed it anyway!

I hate to see that 19 ratings. Better fix that. Anyways, the game itself is very cool and interesting. I love the decision to go with procedural generation for your game map, it lends itself well to game jams. The art also looks beautiful, I suppose it must have taken a long time to get it looking the way it does? I do wonder about the decision to leave out any story. I think this kind of game would have benefited from one. The mood is really strong with a good decision to leave the color pallet mostly gray. I think a story could fit in well here. As for the theme, very unstable, very nice. Overall fun game, I really enjoyed it.

Very liked mood of the game!
Visual, sounds are very cool!

Sometimes random was pretty unfair - I spawned right near the bull and almost instantly died ;( sometimes bull was too far from me, and I easily got to the finish.

But anyway I got fun from the game, well done!

@circle thank you for fixing 19 ratings! :) Actually the art uses something I learned in game jams - to do more effect for less work. Tiles are very simple and each tile is made by copy&pasting the previous one and adding some slight modifications :) Just plain colors with basic Inkscape textures on the top. Also I can activate an isometrically shaped grid in Inkscape, so drawing perfectly shaped tiles was really easy :)

But I must say I spent some time with the bull :) Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

@dcrdro yeah it is :) Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's unfair... that's life and that's game jams as well :) Anyway I'm happy you got some fun.

Very nice and polished game!
Nice mechanics with the bull that you must "guide" it to the exit.
Great job!

Great game! The sound of incoming bull scared the sh*t out of me  I've almost missed that there are objectives, it could be a little bit more visible.

@tiptoe Thanks! Happy you hear him coming I think the sound should be louder - I'm developing with headphones but when I played it later just on the laptop the sound was quite low on volume.. maybe it would be even better when you turn the volume a bit up :)

As for objectives - you mean even more visible than this?
