Sometimes I felt the mouse click was not grabbing propertly. But it just happende to me one time or twice. Specially when particles were sliding fast.
It was an overall pleasent experience, with the nice intro at the beggining with this geeky guy. The voice acting was amazing. Also the Design choices i think they fit the game very well!.
The graphics are nice and clean and the game is juicy as all hell!
And your graphics performance is excellent.
However sometime I cannot put the particle inside...
I didn't understand how you lose, but the visuals and the gamefeel is so satisfying :)
The voicedub and the "rickroll" got me haha
Nice game!
Your interpretation of the theme is great, and you have a solid, if simple, gameplay to support it. Music is fitting and does not get annoying. Graphics are simple, but nice and clear - the color scheme is very pleasant and well-designed. It's perfect really - the difference between the particles is visible at the first glance, and the muted earthy palette makes it easy on the eyes and does not add to the confusion of stuff flying around everywhere.
And the voice-over was an unexpected but a welcome boon
Would be nice to have an ability to skip the intro when you want to replay the game. Also, I'm curious if it's possible to actually do so well that the boss (?) will not tell you to get out? Or is he just always unsatisfied ;)?
The voice acted tutorial was a nice touch, even if I did immediately feel overwhelmed by how rapidly things spiraled out of control haha. Nice driving music that made me feel very focused, good sound design on the particles, some nice designs on the particles themselves as well, simple but clean with a clear differentiation between particle types.
My only real issues are that the voice lines can overlap the subtitles if you click too fast, and that the game was pretty hard even on easy - though the chaotic feel really connected it to the theme.
it's fun, innovative and beautiful, nothing else to say, good job !
The art is on point, the voice acting is amazing, and the sounds are super addicting. It was really fun to combine the elements together.
I played this game for a lot longer than most game jam games I usually play.
A problem I had with the web version was that the custom cursor was super glitchy, so I had to download the actual game. Also, I wish I didn't have to watch the cutscene every. single. time. I wanted to play again. I put quite a few attempts into the game, so it was slightly annoying.
Other than that, great game! It felt super polished for a game jam game.
It's a bit *unstable* gameplay wise. Like others mentioned, the web version seemed to have some issues with the controls.
Still, this is a solid entry and I had fun!
I concur with others here that having a quicker way to jump back into it by having a replay button and cutting straight to the countdown would be great; it's just a game with that kind of feel where you want to give it another go.
On that front, I think it fits so much in that loop that it would be even better served if there was a score-chasing element to it; how reduced the nucleus got could be kept track of and your best record can be displayed at the end screen. Trying to beat that would be really fun, and give people an excuse to keep playing!
So cool to see another interpretation on the decay idea. It's funny because we reference having another mechanic implemented that we just didn't get into levels in time, and (as the name of our game suggests) it's alpha particle decay! So really cool to see how you used that here.
Really great work for a first jam game guys; keep it up!
The polish on this game is excellent. Animations are nice and bouncy, sound effects really add to every action... it's all great!
And for your first LD jam, big congrats to all of you!
