Wind Rover by OminusGalaxy44

image2021-10-03230016.png You're controlling a robot which was sent to a distant planet. However, the wind on the planet is blowing debris everywhere. Your goal is to try to stand on an unstable pile of said debris to get better connection to send info back. image2021-10-03230143.png

Your connection is very unstable though, so information is sent back pretty slowly. Try and send back 50 pieces of information!

Interesting concept, but game area is too small. Also i have no idea what everything is for. Moving controls are bad, and not to least i have no idea when the next orange-asteroid from the air will ruin the whole mission for to success.

Would have been way better with a little, fast indication of where the objects are coming from imo, it can be frustrating to die on a random Mars blowing you from nowhere, even if it still is a funny situation lmao

A little difficult to survive ^^" Some objects come too fast and it's impossible to do anything ... The best strategy I find is to stay hidden between the objects and pray that something doesn't come crashing down on me x)

@hiisileiri what controls specifically did you not like? it would be helpful to know this so i can make better games in the future

This might sound strange, but I love the title screen. The music is a little loud but the gameplay is cool and fun. Nice entry!

Gave me a good laugh how everything seemed aimed at my red button. Eventually hit 50 after learning to dodge.

I started a bunch of times, and often I'd just die from an unlucky rotation right at the start. The furthest I got was sending between 60 and 70 pieces of information by standing stationary inside a little picket created by large pieces of debris and just waiting. I clearly passed the 50 mark, but the game continued regardless, so I suppose there is no win condition?

The music sounds a little random, and magenta/grey/brown isn't my favorite palette for the art, but everything seemed pretty clear visually at least. I enjoyed the *unexpected* types of debris.

I got really confused at the start, as I kept falling head first when I spawned and dying on impact. But once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun! Congrat on your take on the theme!

@flaterectomy it tells you how you did after you die because there's different results for different amounts and i didn't want players to just stop playing after hitting 50; i probably should've added more clarification tbh

love the sound design, it might be the hour, but I laughed every time I died, took me one round to understand the concept, but love the concept, and having a robot with a self destruct button on the top is a great concept.

Muy bueno y me gusta el nivel de dificultad que tiene.

Sound and Graphics are nice. I found it very unintuitive to rotate with the arrow keys... don't know why

Difficult to get the controls at first, but after getting the hang of it, it was a positively refreshing experience. My poor robot was destroyed one too many times to send those 61 pieces of information back to Earth :D

Nice Game. In some runs it felt annoyingly hard, but maybe I am just a bad gamer :D. My Highscore was 21. I think the audio wasn´t fitting the game that much. Overall a fun experience and totaly fitting the theme. Good Job!

@westmave yeah i couldn't come up with music eerie enough for a new planet but not so eerie that it sounds like a haunted house lmao

Actually thought this was really fun, theres a great concept here and the controller felt realistic but responsive enough to be fun. I would say the music needs some work, and if you could work out a system to keep the unstable pile a bit higher for longer, it would be even better.

Hey, this was a really addictive game and the music was honestly amazing.

I love the RNG element of this, debris can come flying at you even when you think you have an amazing unbreakable spot!

One thing that could make the game more replayable would be reward unlocks on information levels which could be exchanged for skins for the bot?

Thanks so much for making this, it was really fun!

Interesting idea. It might be a bit hard/unfair because some objects are flying too fast and there is no time to react. Graphics and audio are decent. Nice take on the theme. Good job!
