This game was made in 40 hours, excluding sleep and other applications of life. I restarted my game after 2 hours, as my idea was falling apart the further I coded. Crafted with Unity3D, Gimp, Audacity, and a lot of stress.

What a fun time. Those chain guns are *weirdly* satisfying. Only have two critiques: One, some of the tutorial text appeared partially off the screen. Two, the raycast detection seems to extend a bit beyond where the tracer line ends, resulting in some unintentionally smashed sus blocks. Great voice over and loved the music!

Ok, this is hilarious. The voice acted tutorial is really well done. The concept is super fun and the gameplay is really enjoyable. Amazing job!

got a score of 459! this is a really cute and VERY engaging game :D i loved that you had to control your character and not fall off the platform. the sound design was great too, nothing too jarring and it all flowed together really well! the only thing that i'd improve on is that when you click and drag the ray around sometimes it flickers a bit, but it doesn't affect the experience :)

Well-done! I had a heck of a time using the mouse controls on one of those thinkpad dot mouse thingies, but managed to get a couple upgrades before getting totally rocked by a dozen bricks that took out half the rooftop, but that's a me problem lol

This is amazingly fun, played it a few times. Want to play it more. That building is awesome. Love the concept, and like the graphics. Didn't have a problem with tutorial text being of screen. And loved the voice over.

Nice, liked when the building started moving around. It'd be cool to see some progress / number in game, before you die. I didn't think there was anything until I took a screenshot and died.

Stats are cool, especially like 'number of things shot ' / 'minutes survived'

I really enjoyed this game and I was pleasantly surprised with the voice acting  It started out fairly easy and then got significantly harder, a nice progression of difficulty. Good work.

You had me at "falling projectiles such as Elon Musk". Also a building dual-wielding miniguns, say what? Very fun entry, kudos! :D

Pretty fun and funny game.
I did spend most of the time on my back shooting up at the sky and eventually I just rolled off the building.
Was expecting Elon Musk to come down, but maybe he was in the rocket? Or I didn't survive long enough.

582! Love this, feels good to play and lots of style. What a delightful tutorial / intro as well, I know that had to chew up some compo time but good on you for doing it. The glasses were a nice touch.

Wow, this game started so fun. The character art is hilarious the way it moves and flips. The narration was on point. What a great tutorial. I got a score of 1497 on my first try. I just wanted to die by the end of it. It all kind of felt the same, and moving around didn't really have an effect, I just had to aim the mouse at the rocks. I think a steeper difficulty curve would have made this game much more replayable. I see so much potential here. The game controls and art just feel great, all you need is a bit of a better level and system design and this is a legit fire game. Thank you for the game!

Well done little game! You've got both a nice challenge and some progression here. The controls are show well at the start, but I had to go back to the game page to read up on what to shoot and what to not shoot. Graphics and sound is on point and everything feels very smooth.

The game is fun and seeing the huge miniguns spring to help you out was an unexpected and fun surprise. I liked the idea, it's something new and interesting. It was cool that you added some voice over :) The gun shot sound was ok, but I think something with a bit more punch would have been even better. Nice job!

I got 865. Those sus boxes are really nasty. I didn't find myself using the jump very often, but it was nice to try to save myself when I started falling. I wish the powerups combined so I could have a wide lightsaber. Nice job!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! These last few weeks have been crazy and it has been a miracle that I was able to publish this game and get some reviews out...

@weine I plan on potentially introducing the game-in game-rather than introducing it through a practice level, so I keep the fast paced motion of the game, thank you for your feedback!

@ubershmekel Wow nice score! When I was playtesting it, I found that most people died around 500-700 so I kinda cut off the difficulty curve around there (mostly to save time), adding more content is something I definitly want to pursue in though. Thank you for your feedback!

@barrier Tis unfortunate, I would have loved to include more elon-musk references than just a simple rocket ship, and potentially even a boss, but I had to conserve time as best as possible. Something I might pursue when/if I publish a final version.

Once more, Thank you so much everyone for your feedback!!! It means a lot and has inspired me to potentially make this a complete game, (with multiplayer :smirk:), It definitly has been an adventure this last week, I acctually had several college papers that I had to work on back to back with this jam, and I am very happy that this game turned out as well as I was hoping it would.

Personally I wish I had developed the mood and enviroment of the scene more, a cityscape in the background with smog and other ambience would have definitly added to this game more. However, I am glad that I was able to focus on making this game very fast paced and engaging.

Good Luck to everyone who is competing! I cannot thank you all enough for your feedback and encouragement.

I love the building dual wielding miniguns, the voice over is a really nice touch and the humor is definitely there. One of the best I've played so far!

I got to 833, it was pretty fun, although I wish you had a little bit more time to react to the projectiles. For the most part I just tanked the sus boxes and tried to shoot as many of the resulting bricks as I could. The tutorial was hilarious but not all of the sprites for the falling stuff showed up for me. Once the game started the sprites made it obvious what was what so I didn't mind that.

This is probably the nicest tutorial I've seen in an LD game! I wish it went a bit faster, but the interactivity made it super clear what was going on.

Gameplay wise, It felt like there wasn't much time to react to certain projectiles. The Sus blocks in particular had a tendency to spawn right next to a brick and there wasn't enough time for them to separate enough that I felt confident sniping it. Powerups felt solid, and the giant machine guns were a nice touch.

That said, the game itself felt like it dragged on. This is likely a pacing issue; the difficulty ramp probably just needs to be a bit faster for my tastes. These things are extremely hard to get right during compo, since it can only really be teased out with gameplay testing. Depending on your workflow, it could be good to set aside a few friends to test your game for feel and balance a few hours before the deadline so you can make any last minute tweaks; though I totally get why that might not always be possible.

Overall a super well done entry. Nice work!

Bravo for the voice acting. The game was quite an enjoyable, but I feel that towards the end, the obstacles felt a bit redundant. I would suggest limiting the ammo of your machine gun; at the moment, you can simply spam spray the sky and go on forever. However, 5 stars for the tutorial and humor!

I gave a bunch of feedback for this while I was playing. Really polished job. Still one of the best so far. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1182727061
I could hear music but twitch has it silenced.
