Neverending Forest of Beasts by dosmaen
The Neverending Forest of Beasts is a game where you play as a killer rabbit and you must kill things hiding in cardboard boxess and gather their souls.
There are about four different room types where treasure gets randomly generated.
A lot of features were cut because I ran out of time to implement them, but this is my first Ludum Dare entry so I am glad I was able to submit anything at all. I wouldn't have had much time tomorrow to add anything because of work, so I submitted it early.
Controls:
WASD - Movement
Mouse - Menu Interaction
Art:Rachel J. Morris
Music: Lynn Kitty Frey

sweety game about destroying boxes!
Still, the graphics work perfectly, the battle theme is awesome and OMG THAT BUNNY IS HEADED RIGHT AT ME WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE
Fun game though, could use a tutorial or some general guidelines.
Do you guys think this is something I should continue to develop? I've always wanted to do a game that was a roguelike and jrpg combo. Of course, I would probably overhall the combat completely.
I fairly enjoyed hopping around as a cute little killer bunny, and I've always loved running around opening treasure chests in RPGs. Well done your first Ludum Dare!
"Holy mother of god, I need new pants"
(What I said when the battle music abruptly started for the first time)
Pros: Has the potential to be a fun little dungeon crawler type game.
Art/ music were ok.
Cons:
Menu was fairly sloppy, but it wasn't confusingly so.
The whole Killer Bunny thing could have fit the "You are the monster" theme, but I feel like there wasn't enough present to support this.
Overall:
Has potential. I would be curious to see what you did with this, given more time. Looking forward to seeing your entry for LD34 :)
Good first entry.
This is a great first time entry!
Definitely felt strange that the overworld doesn't have music. Additionally, the UI can be a little confusing as well. I frequently mistaken the enemy health to my own, for example.
Hope to see some improvements on this. It looks like it could blossom to a fleshed out game.
But I made something and it's kind of playable! I think that is an accomplishment in itself, at least for me. :P
