However i can't seem to survive even a lil bit: even if i non stop remove the monsters from the building i keep getting a game over.. Do i have to kill them after i remove them or something?
Please fix the submission; the link should show windows instead of source code
Art style is fitting and really well made, however there are small imperfections, like the the icons next to the baby, which have been stretched over their original ratio :) I've also encountered some bugs (probably?), when the monster didn't leave even after being hit.
Also I was slightly confused at first, because after defeating the monster it doesn't leave right away, but slowly slides across the screen, which then appears as an arrow - this leads to having an arrow on the edge of the screen, which points you into the direction of a monster which has already been defeated.
The game is also kinda hard, I can't seem to survive for more than a ~minute, even though i try hard to both get rid of monsters and keep the baby satisfied :D
Thanks for your comment! I have modified the link type.
It's a little too difficult, energy is reducing too quickly when figthing monsters i think, and defeating a mosnter lacks feedback.
But great idea
Took me a while before I figured out that I had to throw the monsters fast with the mouse to destroy them, and also that I had to click the baby cradle, then drag and drop items on the baby to satisfy it's need. At first I just clicked the cradle, then on the items, and nothing happen. β(οΎ ο½οΎ )β
So took to many retries and trial and error to figure out what to do in the game in order to be able to enjoy it.
As the creators of the game the gameplay is probably crystal clear to you.
For the next game you make I recommend that you let somebody who has not been part of the development team test it before publishing.
I think it would be good if there was more info about how to play - for example it took me a while to figure out you could restore health by going to the karaoke, and it also took me a while to figure out how to interact with the baby or how to defeat monsters. I also kept getting game-overs and I didn't know why. Overall cool idea and a nice looking game :)
Haha, great game, I loved the Super Mom character :) The controls were a bit confusing at first as people have pointed out, but really all I needed clarified was how to kill monsters. The rest I was able to pick up on after a few tries (and after knowing that I was supposed to use the mouse). I really liked the concept though, I think the message of the game was very clear and well delivered. I also think it's pretty well tuned after understanding the controls - I was never breezing through or feeling like it was too unfair. Good job !
I thought the game is bugged when i clicked on the baby while holding items and it did nothing. After a bit of patience and couple of realizations finally figured out how it works
There's couple of tiny improvements which would help a lot in gameplay experience:
- Baby stats should be placed near the baby, i didn't realize the baby has stats until my idk-th tries and you have to wait it out instead of spamming clicks on the baby.
- Spawning items and moving them to baby seemed redundant, would prefer the items simply hanging or scattered in the house and then up to the player to arrange it.
- Guiding arrows are hard to keep track of, it kinda blends with the background and it's a bit small. The enemies also kind of blends with the buildings and sometimes i didn't realize they're on my screen. If the enemy part is intentional it's alright i guess.
Aside from things mentioned and the severe lack of tutorials, the graphic and art is good. Thanks for the game  !
