Warp Driver by Wilko
You play as the astronaut Crisp Rat. An intergalactic space travelling rodent with a very unstable space ship that will blow up if you overload the engine. Hop from galaxy to galaxy through a series of wormholes while avoiding asteroids, planets and black holes!
We have an online leaderboard! Where players are ranked by the number of charged boosts they took. When replaying the game make sure you uncheck "show guide" so you can quickly climb the ranks of the leaderboard. The leaderbaord can take a bit of time to update (up to a minute if the server is hibernating).

The programming and art was done by Ruairidh Williamson and Sam Wilkinson and the Cover Image was done by our good friend Dan :)

If you can, download the game cause it plays the best that way. If you are playing it in your browser please full screen it.
If you download it; extract it and run the executable if windows blocks you. Press "more info" and "run anyway".
EDIT - 08/10/2021: Just realised that we didn't enable graphics ratings :( All of the art and shaders were made by us over the weekend.

The mechanic felt good and I really enjoyed the visuals, esp the black hole effects and debris.
It was fun beating levels in ways I'm sure you didn't intend them to be beaten hahah

Didn't really feel any "unstable" in there besides the logic that prevents you from slowing things down for too long :P

Great stuff :D
Solid entry, well done!
Tho, it was possible to skip a lot of levels (which I used at one or two, but ignored wherever I could) by moving up or down vertically out of the spawn boxes. So no planets can hit you. But that isn't even a bad thing because the first time it feels like a cool thing to find out and the second time, it will just be used when it takes too long to beat a level. ^^
Thanks for your entry, was a fun ride. ^^
And gameplay looks really polished tho. Love it
There's not much to criticize for this submission. I felt like it achieved what it wanted to do well, and the music, graphics, sound effects, and gameplay worked well together. Perhaps my minor nitpick is that the game could be fully playable with the mouse, but I am required to use the keyboard to continue the tutorial or to restart the level. Being able have the option to click through that would be nice. Heck, that'd make it nearly ready for mobile! Well done, good game!
Levels are different, and never boring to play, and the difficulty has a good progression.
I LOVE the gravity that affects the ship and its feedback. This mechanic can open a door to a large number of different levels, so keep working on it, I would like to play a more polished and longer version of this and place my name on top of the leaderboard.
But I don't think the font you used on dialogues is easy to read.
Gives me lots to think about as a rework my game with a similar mechanic.
Sound is good, very good
Graphics also on the level
Gameplay is nice. I wonder how you programmed the trajectory calculation... :)
