Teenage Monster by dpisarcik
Teenage Monster
You are in highschool and nobody seems to like you. You decide to clean up your act by smelling better, looking better, and getting a little bit reckless. You soon find the other kids will start to like you-- but at what cost?
Will you become another kind of neurotic highschool monster?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gameplay:
- Raise your attributes by collecting items around the school. Hold the up key and press spacebar to open doors and lockers. What could be inside?
- Try to make friends and raise your coolness by pressing spacebar. If you are not up to their standards (you monster), they will tell you why!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
How it was made:
Originally intended for the compo, but early bugs kept me from hitting the deadline. Aside from delivering the game in 72 hours, all other compo rules were followed.
- Engine: Unity
- Animated Sprites: piskel
- Tile Maps: GIMP
- Music: Fruity Loops
- Sound Effects: bfxr
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
KNOWN ISSUES**
- Occasionally, NPC names are not displayed correctly in the dialog box. After a while, the same name might continue appearing over and over, even though your character is talking to different NPCs.
- Graphics are not pixel-perfect.
- UI not optimized for playable aspect ratio. Will need to adjust window size until all UI elements display as expected.
This is my first ever Unity game and it worked great on my home PC. Once I transferred it to other machines, its proven to be very buggy. I may provide more bugfixes in the coming days, but will NOT change gameplay or assets in anyway.
Enjoy!

Dialog was pretty funny before that happened, and music is pretty catchy. Nice job!
It was pretty fun, although I struggled to find enough hair gel, which doesn't seem like a realistic problem in highschool.
The humor was great, "This makes your hair do what other people want it to do", which also made your interpretation of the theme a little deeper I think.
Great job!
Other than that the game is really fun. Keep it up!
