IMPORTANT: Use arrow keys to move. Fancade's browser (the platform where the game was hosted) is currently on beta so WASD wouldn't work properly.

Lord Glutton demands a feast, and it's up to you to fill his endlessly hungry stomach! Use your trusty shopping cart to move around the market, finding food and avoiding villagers, use the trash can to dispose unwanted items, and make sure to feed the king before he becomes unstable and explodes!

This game was made for fun, but also to show the potential of Fancade to use in much bigger events!

Congrats on the entry, nice job!

I had collected all three requested items but after that nothing happend. I also had to remember which items the king requested, because the item balloon above his head was out of screen for me.

Other than that I think the game is nicely polished. I really liked the audio in this game.

However, I think Lord Glutton might be a bit upset with me as I let him blow up multiple times :D

I'll have to look into this fancade, seems really neat. I love the art and sounds, great job on that. I did find the people wandering a bit of a challenge to navigate, overall great job!

@tinykidtoo Thanks for the feedback! You should definitely take a look at Fancade, it's a really great app and very easy to learn if you want to make games there :D

Though I'm somewhat glad that the wanderers are serving their purpose, being annoying obstacles

Very good presentation! The game felt a bit basic, and the music didn't really fit the gameplay, but the graphics were great.

@dennis-magnusson Thanks for the feedback! Have to agree on you with how the game felt pretty basic, I had a really great picture in my head but I didn't know what more I should add to the gameplay. Glad to know the art was great though!

This is for now, one of the best game I played on the jam. the graphics, and the concept are great.
I wish the game controls was more easy to use and to have a little more time for the first few items.
Thank you for making this game! I laugh a lot watching my girlfriend playing

Thanks @fractale ! I unfortunately can't do anything with the controls since Fancade (the platform where the game was hosted on) doesn't have the ability for me to change and implement the controls (mostly because it's much more playable on a phone). Though I could make some changes with the starting time. Thanks again!

I really enjoyed this game, really well made with great art and mechanics, but I don't really see how it fits the theme

@slimmerburger Thanks! I guess it's how the king would throw a huge tantrum if his needs aren't satisfied, so you have to give him food to keep him "stable". Anyways, I do know that it's okay that it's farfetched from the theme as long as I made something :D

@spolarium Oh yeah, I see how you could interpret the theme that way. I just didn't think about it that way :D

The game is good, I is enjoy the game, but sometime I push some people is isn’t moving… that is actually a bug?

@ben789fa Thanks! You can push the people around, the same way that they can push you

I really like the graphics design (especially the color and how you combine simple shapes to make the figures!) and the overall mood!
I felt a little frustrated about the control that it is not very smooth, although I'm not sure if this is exactly by design.

Thanks @ovilia ! The slippery cart is intentional, to add some extra challenge to players. Although I don't know if that makes it better or worse (but I'm glad it served its purpose  )

This is a cute little game. I got really frustrated with the other people really quickly, but I imagine that it the point of the game. I didn't last very long but the game was pretty clear and easy to pick up. It would be interesting to see how allowing the player to pick up two things at once would affect the gameplay.

Amazing art. This actually is quite a relaxing casual play at times, shopping for the king, I feel like I could keep coming back to play. If I could change anything. I would spread the stalls out a bit more.

Really nice graphics, and the music was a nice simple loop. My first run I spent a long time trying to put a second item in the cart, because I assumed I had to bring all 3 items back in one go. I only realized towards the end of my time that you had to take back one item at a time. I think since the items aren't equally spaced and the player only has to bring back one at a time, if the king asks for one of the furthest items the player will never go for it, so requiring that they bring back his whole order at once might be an interesting way to address that. Great work!

Really loved the music on this one. total bop. I liked the atmosphere generally too very 2 bit feel. The gameplay was simplistic, but the movement controls were pretty nice so it was nice carting around.

Great game, nice art style, very well polished. (Can I get stuck by picking the wrong item?) Good job!

This game is beautiful! I love the art and music - it makes everything feel so peaceful - like I'm in no rush to feed my king. Those darn npcs really didn't want to me feed him in the first place :)

Thanks @mickyhc @quite-good @fabioecco @logan-king for the feedback!

Regarding fabioecco's question, in case you ever got the wrong item, there's a bin at the center of the market to dispose it.

Amazing game as always @spolarium! i loved the graphics, and at the start i couldn't figure out where.to get the food for the king but i found how after some time. Maybe it's because i wasn't paying attention? I don't know. Anyways, great game!

Clever combination of memorization and skill! I think the game would really shine if the movement mechanic itself was more skill-based. Right now it's much like shopping IRL, people always in the way. What if the movement was a slide-until-stop puzzle, or a tumble-a-2x1-block puzzle? It'd turn those games from an IQ-test into an arcade game where you have to be fast but also a bit smart!

Really cute little game with a great atmosphere. And playable on phone! This fancade thing is really fascinating!
I felt like there is not much reason to for items that are far away, I always want with the ones close at hand. Maybe having orders of multiple items or reshuffling one of the listed ones when you deliver another could add a bit more of a challenge. Have that's just me though. I like the slipperiness, it reminds me of what I like to do at the supermarket when no one is watching - starting to run and then lifting yourself up on the shopping cart 🛒😁 It's quite a different experience if you constantly crash into people though 😄

Nice game! You can tell the ruler is living an unstable lifestyle
The game felt a little too linear. It sets up a list of 3 items to get, but you don't actually have to collect all three. Maybe change it so you need to collect all three items before you get a new batch of 3 items? Or what if you could collect multiple items at once? Would probably lead to some interesting decision problems, and create a risk/reward scheme where going for more items at once is risky but yields a greater reward. There are many ideas here!
Overall great game! Love the art style, and a very cool take on the theme!
