[raw]
made by DriagonV for Ludum Dare 49 (JAM)

Untitled.png The Year is 2070.

Guns are powered by radioactive material, though they are unstable, so make sure not to let the guns overheat.

Now go shoot some mutants.

It doesn't seem to matter what gun I use, most of the enemies get to me before I can kill them. I don't have enough lead time to see and react to them. Art is inconsistent. I can see the goal you were going for, I just think you didn't have enough time to refine it into something solid.

A knockback to the enemies would've been nice but cool game overall!

I enjoy the shooting mechanics of the game. A few more variety would just be even better :)

I was a bit confused on what I had to do and I found that there wasn't really any feedback to a gun getting hot. Still a nice entry and I enjoyed the banana gun!

The game def needs some juice and polish, but well i know you had to rush it, but outside of that, i think that the guns could overheat faster, and be stronger, like it didn't feel fun to pump 8 bullets to kil one enemy, but having like a gun taking folk in one/two hits, but having like 3 shots before overheating would be more fun, and if you would want to have a more bullets gun, it should be way faster, like an automatic smg, cuz current guns just feel too slow, it's usually to have less of stronger hits, than many weak ones when it comes to juice (exception would be a fuck ton of weak ones), TF2 is a good example of that, most guns aren't automatic, and the ones that are, always have the non automatic variant (except mingun, but fuck it), it feels way better to land 2 rockets and kill someone, than 80 bananas, even if it takes the same amount of time

Pretty fun. In the time I played, it seemed the enemy spawns were constant, this is the sort of game I want to get increasingly hectic as you play. I like the switching mechanic, and while I did find the fire rate slow at first, I liked the added sense of tension it gave when 2-3 guys managed to group on me.

The music is... really bad. It actually made me unable to pay attention to the tutorial, and during the game. Really sorry to whoever made it. :( The game itself is fun, I like the different weapons and the controls are all adequate, though, once you get the mechanic, you pretty much can't lose. Just press F when the bar is high enough. One thing I would have liked is for the gun to get redder, or start pulsing when it gets close to overheating. That would give more feedback to the player that they need to switch.

It's a good base and I love your enemy names (especially the Beefie) :), but it could use a heap of polish:
1. Some even basic flashing on the enemies when they are hit would add a lot to the player feedback.
2. Same with the guns, they could flash when they overheat and become more and more unstable.
3. Different weapons are great and have some pleasant art, but all of them feel a bit under-powered. I think it's mostly because of a slow rate of fire - they feel sluggish. Maybe the banana gun could also knock the enemy back - that would give it more character.
4. If you'd present a player with some score at the end (e.g. time survived, score vs. the last score), it would give incentive to try again and do better. This kind of endless shooters are great for that.
5. Music... needs changing ;). Maybe it's just me, but I didn't find it especially great, it gets really repetitive really fast and does not really go with the flow of the game.

Congrats on finishing the jam :)

Definitely a good foundation for a game! I liked the mechanic of a gun overheating and you having to switch between them. I think that there could be some better visual feedback for the player as they play, such as for damaging opponents and when you shoot the gun. Could definitely get more and more difficult the longer you play. Overall, good job!

The background could use something more than grey to give a sense of motion, until you see the borders it can be a little trippy and seem like you aren't moving haha.

Hey, this was a really fun game and the banana gun was awesome!

I like that you get a different weapon each time you play, it really adds to the replayability.

One thing I would like to see more utilised is the bouncing of the projectile, it's really cool with it bouncing off the walls!

Maybe having some moving obstacles that go in and out of the map boundry with collision could make things more interesting?

I had a blast playing it though so thanks for making it!

Thumbs up for the banana gun :) Other than that I agree with everyone above. Keep making games and try to polish it a tad more :)

fun little game, classic take on the run & gun genre! A little more work would go along way, but the base game is all there and solid. Good work!
