really funny game and great idead to use the microphone for the balancing. I had lot of fun playing it. At somepoint i just burst into laughter because i was making soooo weird noises :D my neighbours think iam crazy now. I hope you don't record the audio, haha

This game is hilarious, both from the concept and from the fact that I know I look like an idiot blowing air into my microphone from an inch away. I kept giving up and laughing at around 10 feet into it, and just watched the poor gymnast fall to his death.

Very unique. I feel like blowing into the microphone used to be a common mechanic in Nintendo DS games, but not on other platforms (I guess because most platforms besides Desktop don't have a microphone?). Anyways, it does kinda feel like you really are blowing on the character. Maybe the feeling would be enhanced a bit if the direction matched (i.e. if the gymnast was tipping towards you)? But that would be less visually clear gameplay-wise, so maybe just ignore me.

I'm so glad I got a new microphone so I didn't have to use the inbuilt one on the top of my laptop's monitor.

Novel idea using the microphone for the control. I only got a PB of 27ft, after all the attempts to get even that far I'm too light headed to continue. I'll see about getting a new PB later.

I put my mic in but I don't know if its just something I'm doing wrong or my setup but I couldn't get the mic part to work. But based on what I have seen it does look an interesting game and it did make me laugh when he fell off hahaha

Little thing for extended version: The guy falls to the left and shouting brings him to the right. Feels a bit asymmetric, any idea how to make it more symmetric?

@d3kryption there should be a warning visible in the instruction screen if no microphone was found - if a microphone is found when the game starts, you can also hear yourself & see visual feedback. otherwise, you might want to check your systems settings for the microphone

@itzemii thanks! the initial idea was to use different pitches of the voice to go left/right, but it was too difficult to use, so we simplified it. (I could think of 1-2 other possibilities, but you can only do so much in a gamejam)

A mic-input sensitivity slider would be nice. The limiting factor in my high score was running out of breath and getting light headed.

Wow, this is SUCH a unique mechanic! The vibe of the game is funky and cute, and it's goofy enough to justify the concept but still solid enough to be invested in what's going on. One thing I'd suggest: perhaps have some kind of visual on screen to give some more concrete visual feedback as to how much noise the mic is actually picking up? You know, like one of those "how strong are you" carnival game things that gives you a better sense off the bat of how much you need to adjust. Very interesting and enjoyable game, regardless!

Such a fun concept! The microphone controls are a great take to make it feel more unstable. My dog went crazy from all the sounds I made haha!
