C.L.E.M. by Shackhal

[raw]
made by Shackhal for LD33 (JAM)
C.L.E.M. is a top-down perspective game where you are a non-human criature named "Malo", who was captured by humans and he wants to escape from the facility he is. What he didn't know is that those humans have plans for him...

This gives you a question: Who is the "monster"?

Controls:
---------
Arrows: Move
Enter: Begin/Restart Level

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wanted to add more stuff to the game: The player to have some skills, add more animations and graphics/audio assets in general, add more "enemies" and also more levels. But my time wasn't enough to do it. So I put those on "wishlist" and focused on the basics.

At least it's playable with an ending. So I did a good choice.

Please leave some feedback to improve the game, at least a little xD

Thanks for playing my game :)

Liked the art and the "non-combat" aspect! Really promising! (:

A great game. Nice intro. Wonderfully simple graphics, but the stark "monsters" vs the bright player is really good. Good indicators/sound/and death animation. Overall a wonderful experience! Nice work!

Cool game. Only comment is the guards seem to have eyes in the back of their head. Music was nice too.

Nice graphics and good mood. Enemies are very strong, so I feel pressure. It's good!

It's a decent stealth game, but maybe you could use a less punishing raycast when trying to figure out if the guard will see the player or not? If my had was but a pixel out of cover the guard would be alerted =/

Really nice little game, good job on the atmosphere. I wish there was a bit more to it but it's great for being made in 72 hours. I think it's also a bit unfair that the humans could detect you even if they were facing in the opposite direction, fixing this could add a little more stealth to the game. Good entry either way :)

Great concept with good gameplay. My only problem was that when a guard noticed me I was basically dead, because it followed me down. The ending text was great, felt like a plot twist :)

fun and simple - very well made! This reminded me of Berserk on atari for some reason - the sound effects or the guards? Nice job!

Great game! Love this style of stealthing game, I love the sprites in the game 'Malo' looked amazing. The game just needs tobe bit longer, and the guards need to loose their eye at the back of their head xD overall a solid game

Great game. The guard were alerted, though even when I was pretty far away from them and they weren't facing me. You might want to fix that or add a footstep sound (and then they'd be turning around because they heard footsteps). Also the font was a little hard to read but otherwise, it's a nice little stealth game. Nice job!

Loved the sprites and their animations! The sounds & music also fit quite well and I appreciate the straight-forward ending. :)

Great game! I loved how simple but engaging and challenging it is. I need more levels to burn my day away..

Promising stealth game start. Wish that I had some indication as to the guards vision range. Good effort!

It's simple, but nice! The graphics and style, somehow, remembered me a little bit of a scaled down Ghost Babel, which is quite a good thing.

It's a shame you couldn't add everything you wanted in the game, but you did something! And you've got a nice prototype, so keep up! :D

Very well made game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Ee0UBhVOJOc
