Really clean UI and music. Every time an error code occured it made me panic and rush around the manual trying to find the right solution :D The manual is such a cool idea btw, great game!

Wow, that was stressful! The manual was such a fun concept, really enjoyed reading through it. A few times I was convinced I did everything right but then went through step by step and figured it out. Great work! The controls (especially the crank) were super satisfying. ![Screenshot 2021-10-03 180415.png](///raw/48b/f3/z/444a5.png)

I'm going to print out this manual and place it next to the printer at work.

You get innovation points for mixing mediums: game + doc!

Art and music are also fantastic! Good job!

Just beat it! Shocked at the level of polish going on here, nicely done. Eventually I realized that it never really seemed to explode, so I turned down the alarm and turned up your acoustic! If I had two minor pieces of critique, it would be these:

I'd have liked a bit more overlap between elements. At least during my play through, it seemed once an element was set it was unlikely to be changed again.

And second, just some clarification in the manual that a blinking light is considered "on", as I read that to mean "solidly on".

Overall great little entry. Congrats!

I've never felt so good about being promoted. That was fun, I like having the instructions in a separate tab. I've been waiting at the end to see if it explodes ... the noise got a little faster ... but it's been quite a while ... :smirk: Just waiting for explosion ...

Awesome implementation of this game concept. It feels very well polished, the art style works perfectly and looks great. Big Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes energy, and well executed. I would have liked some kind of feedback on how close I was to a failure condition (could I have lost? I let it run a long time and it seemed to just get faster with the horns) and maybe some penalty for pushing a button without everything being right. As I t was I felt like I could take all the time in the world to go through the manual for each condition, even if the warning alarm tried to suggest otherwise. Overall great game, very well put together!

P.S. props for accessibility settings!

This was pretty fun. A single player version of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.

The instructions were well written and easy to read and the UI was very responsive and readable. I liked the art style as well.

It sounded like there was a soundtrack but it was almost too quiet for me to hear. I wish there was a greater variety of audio tells for warning signs.

Additionally, I was able to panic push buttons a few times and eventually get the right answer. I'm not sure if I was supposed to fail if that happens?

Overall, a fun game.

Very innovative gameplay. Definitely a "Keep talking and nobody explodes" vibe, but I never saw such an entry for LD. Nicely done!

The visuals are nice.

I had to read the comments to realize that there was music. I had to move the master to 6 and the music to 6 in the settings to hear it. is it just me?

Nice entry, good job!

Great Artwork. Frantic gameplay. I could not finish it because I was too stressed out.

Very nice game overall. It seems to capture the spirit of the alienating machines of the old factories, and the muzak-like background music nails it.

The ui is very well done.

Very well made game, reminds me of keep talking and nobody explodes. Easy to pick up and play!

i love this game, and i hope it's fleshed out in the future. if so, i think it'd be even better with time limits a la ktane and maybe even procgen rules+manuals. like others have said, very polished (although the font not being pixelated feels a bit weird)

Nice game. I liked the idea of having the instructions in a PDF file, which definitely has to be open in another window. Does anything ever happen if you don't put in the correct combination aside from the buzzing getting faster?

Keep talking and nobody explodes vibes. Becomes a little stressful on the 3rd station.

I really love this entry. It gives off Keep talking and nobody explodes vibes while managing to stay original. I just really wish this was longer, i need more of this.

The 3rd station is really hard. Having dual monitor helped a lot with the manual PDF :p. Got a bug with the red knob of the 3rd station when turning to hyrdo the animation was stuck in power although I could hear the switch sound.

A great game with great presentation. Clean art style and stress inducing sound effects. Although I do wish there were consequences for doing the wrong thing.

Love playing that game, I needed to reread the instructions sometimes just to make sure I didn't mess anything, the sounds gives a great emergency feeling

I am honestly in awe. A superb game and for it to have been made in the time period is doubly impressive. It reminded my of dont touch anything at times and I found myself laughing while flicking random switches when it got tough. I loved aesthetic and genuinely one of the best entries I've seen so far. Thank you :D

I really like the art style and overall polish. Like others mentioned it definitely has a "Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes" vibe. Would make a great two player game with someone else having the manual open to help you out.

What a fantastic concept! I do have to admit, as soon as I understood I had to read the manual I was like "oh... great, a job-simulator", but the fun of executing calm and procedurally did settle in eventually - especially after the first promotion! Funny how the human brain works!
Thank you for taking the risk of creating an unconventional gaming experience!

im red/green colorblind and this was painful to play lmao

@6smith Yeah I'm sorry about that. I realized this would be hard for colorblind people and so I added a colorblind mode. Did you find it? If so did it help? Feedback on that mode would be greatly appreciated as its the first time I implemented an accessibility feature like that.

Really like the idea of having a pdf on the side to know what to do, feels like a mix between Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and Don't Touch Anything.
The third level was really overwhelming, but in a fun way. Hearing the beeps get faster and faster made me pretty nervous.

Also, we also made a game called Stable Inc for this jam :P

Really like this take on the "game that needs manual" kind. I wasn't sure if there was a fail condition and I never saw one but from the other comments seems like there was one. So I suppose that wasn't very clear. Overall, pretty nice!

Pressing buttons is so satisfying :). Neat concept with the manual! Not sure if there was a fail condition but the alarm was going off pretty fast for me. The third level was intense! Good difficulty progression and everything came together nicely for a good look and feel.

Advice to future players: Look over the manual before you start! :)

This was very engaging for a game about reading instructions and pressing buttons.
The interactivity of the controls and the sounds and animations when using them was fun all on its own.

I'm not sure if the music added to the experience. I think just having silence, punctuated by the blare of the alarm and the click of the switches would have helped keep the sense of tension in the game.

Luckily there was a volume control option, and not only that, the settings menu used the same fun-to-use controls as the rest of the game. I quite liked that little detail.

It was really exciting to play, a couple of times I misread the instructions and didn't realize why nothing worked but I just had to re-read from the beginning and I realized it was all my fault! Great game, very polished!

I like the approach of a Single-player Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes; makes sense in the context of a jam where not everyone has someone they can play with.

Phew, well done! And honestly that's an amazing settings menu. :D I love the UI sounds. I was surprised I made it through the game without error despite the stress and (apparent?) time pressure.

Amazing game. The visuals are really consistent with an 80s Soviet nuclear power plant. I was able to finish the first station by just randomly clicking stuff because who reads the manuals anyway. That soon changed for the second one.

Great game! Loved the artwork, clean, retro and consistent. I didn't feel that the guitar music added to the nuclear powerplant theme though. Would have been more fitting with some Hildur Guðnadóttir "Chernobyl" themed music, but who has time for that in an LD jam, right? Very polished game, I had a fun time playing it! Good job!
