My Ordinary Life by fabY

An ordinary day of an ordinary person... you !
... But you might be a little too nice for your own good. When you accept every request we ask you for, an ordinary day can become unstable... and even chaotic.

In An Ordinary Day, you must complete several quests given by ordinary people with ordinary lives which will maybe open new quests which open events which open quests... And little by little the world change... and collapses.
Or at least it should have been that but, hey, the clock was harsh without gamedesigners :D...
Controls (Keyboard/Gamepad) :
• Arrows / stick : movement
• Space / Y : jump
• Key E / A : interact

Good luck !

but I caught a few bugs:
1) when I double clicked on an NPC with a task, everything froze
2) when I tried to climb the building behind the dog, I fell over the edge of the play area and could not get out

Thanks for making it!
Would be nice if the camera followed the character a bit better, but overall very pleasant and relaxing game!
The music fit the game really well, giving a nice calm mood overall. I enjoyed the quests given, especially the difficult collection of the dog from a rooftop. And then the curve ball that you need to collect the boxes from the roof you have just jumped down from as well.
The only criticism I have is that from transitioning from some areas to others the camera wont start transitioning before the player is at the edge of the screen. Apart from the camera thing though, this is one of the best submissions I’ve played so far!
Nice little puzzles too. I actually completed thi game :)
I love art ang sounds!
Beautiful game
The music is good too. Pleasant and quiet.
The gameplay is interesting too. The quest system makes the game fun once you ask yourself what to do.
If you allow me to say, my only observation in terms of corrections would be in particular the quest to rescue the dog. I don't know to what extent you planned to use the cubes as platforms, but I found it quite difficult to position them and perform the jumps correctly. Also, I believe the difficulty behind this particular quest was a bit disproportionate.
I understand that maybe you wanted to represent the "Unstable" theme across these platforms, and as much as it makes a lot of sense, I think you could simplify this part by having the player perform fewer jumps and box placements to achieve your goal.
Otherwise, I couldn't find out if I finished the game or not. I believe I have done all the quests available. But I fully understand that maybe it wasn't possible to produce an endgame screen, due to the short time of a gamejam. Also because your game has a very nice look and seems to me a very complete project.
So, congratulations! Good job!
The only part that concerned me was the dog-fetching quest. I found it difficult to jump on the big boxes without several tries. Maybe if the jump was a bit higher? Really, that's my only issue.
I'd really like to play this, if you decide to make an expanded post-jam version. Great work!
Really cool game overall :)
Like other said, retrieving the dog was quite hard, the boxes were hard to manipulate, and when i was on the roof, one of the boxes just fell and got stuck in the other building. Thankfully getting hit by a car made me fly high enough to climb the tall building! I can't help but wonder how did that dog got there?
I liked that you can control the traffic!
I can def see how your initial idea would have played out if you had enough time. Well done!
One suggestion for future builds might be to make the controls "local" to the roads and sidewalks. Is this a thing(lol)? Like if I press the up arrow, go along the road instead of straight up globally? Sorry I'm new to this! I think this might solve the platforming issue to rescue the dog. not sure though! But Overall great game! Congratulations!
Apparently I was the only one who had no problem whatsoever to retrieve the dog
