Larry's Whacky Alchemy Lab by Tiberiusuciu
Welcome to our Ludum Dare 49 entry!
The theme for this gamejam is "Unstable"

We present you our game: Larry's Whacky Alchemy Lab

Story
Larry's machine needs alchemical compounds to remain stable. You need to approach the machine and see what compounds it needs. You then must run to the desired compounds and get the right amount of each. You must move quickly, since Larry's machine is about to be completely unstable within 2 minutes at most. Beware that these alchemical compounds are unstable themselves, and you might get a few side-effects along the way.
Feel free to stop by the stabilizer to clean off any side-effects and heal up!

Objective
Feed Larry's machine 15 times the correct alchemical compounds to stabilize Larry's lab. Keep a close watch to your health, some side-effects are harmful.
Controls
- Walk with WASD or use the arrow keys
- Interact with objects with E
- Run while holding shift

Great game! The graphics are nice and the game is straightforward. I like the audio too.
Notes:
- Controls are a bit weird
- I think it would be better if there was a counter of the time you have left to stabilise the reactor
- A dustbin to get rid of wrong resources would be helpful
That's all my suggestions. All the best for the rating!
Would have been nice to have music.
I really liked all the random effects, but didn't feel as though there were enough ways to interact with that system for it to feel fully fleshed out.
Having the different effects to your movement is cool and I can even imagine what an expanded version of the game would be like with visual effects, audio changes, etc.
Great work. :)
I would also like to report a bug :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: sometimes the machine request is nothing, and this confused me a lot, I ended up pressing E and going one level up without doing anything :star:
I still had fun with this game, well done!
I liked the pixel art with many little details. Also the gameplay is fun
