Took a while to get used to the power of the jump, but I managed to make it out in time. Well done on the game! I think the one thing that'd help the jump out immensely is having a bit of forgiveness in the wall jumping (i.e. allow the wall jump if the player left the wall x frames ago). I had the hardest time just falling off a wall mid wall-jump chain because I held the wrong direction.

The wall jumping is unforgiving and one section of the map was pretty challenging due to this. But game is quite fun, and I appreciate the background toggle since the effects started getting too much.

Super cute. The wall jumps can be a bit tricky in a couple places but I enjoyed it and nice shift at the end!

Took me few times to get used to the wall jumping but after a while it became quite easy. Loved how the background warped every time you pick up one of those circle things. Overal a very enjoyable game. Well done. Keep it up.

Pretty fun. Would've preferred if the jump was small by default, the first encounter where I needed a low jump had me confused cause I didn't think it was possible with the huge jump height. Maybe hold up to enable power jump instead of down for small jump? Cool visuals

Like others said, it really took time to get used to how the jump worked, and the controls didn't feel as tight as they could have, but beating the different areas was satisfying and the respawn was so quick and the respawn points forgiving enough that it let me focused on actually wanting to get used to the controls as opposed to just giving up on the game. I also thought the timer at the end was very cool. I did the classic, sit up straight and focus kind of thing haha. I really liked the effects in the background as well, it added to the tenseness at the end for me. Good job!

The visual style of the game looks very good, it caught my eye and made me want to try it. The background elements actually are very distracting. I like the main character's design. The game's physics are kind of hard to get used to. Jump velocity and gravity are both kind of high. The levels are also very difficult, especially with the difficult physics. I did notice the generous checkpoints, which was def a good idea! Good job!

Love the aesthetic and the track, I agree with the comments about wall jumps being too unforgiving, but aside from that, it was awesome and the checkpoint system was perfect

I like the mood on this one - the simple graphics are complemented well by the aetherial/dreamy background track you picked! The wall jumping is tough but a fun mechanic - like some others have said, I'd make the timing a little more forgiving. I enjoyed being able to wall jump back onto the same wall - reminded me of N+ a bit! If it weren't for the checkpoint system, I would have given up early on, but respawning basically where I died enticed me to keep trying over and over again. A nice take on the "hard platformer" vibe!

Pretty fun platformer, a shame you didn't opt in audio rating, because I loved the music ! The visuals and mood were pretty nice, and I really love this kind of gameplay. Good game !

@shared I opted out of music because I didn't compose it; it's from OpenGameArt.

@zacryol Oh, well good choice of music then. Still loved the game, especially the escape part

Nice music. Interesting visual - the gameplay is sometimes a bit complicated with jumping and holding crunch button down to jump lower.

This game is tricky. Excellent music pick for the mood. The HTML version was super difficult to control, but the native versions ran wonderfully. (Noting in case anyone else is on a less-than-capable laptop. Your input will be much more precise when the game runs at a proper framerate.) I loved the wall-jumping mechanic.

Like others I struggled with the low jump. Particularly where precise horizontal control was necessary since I couldn't get my brain to let go of both keys for some reason.

I think the jump mechanics were a bit too intractible for those of us not into hardcore platformers but the music and mood were great.
