Ludumium by blaster391

[raw]
made by blaster391 for Ludum Dare 49 (JAM)

Title.png

It's your first day at Ludum Laboratories and you must get to work combining chemicals and dispensing them into the tray for the researchers. Unfortunately, the table is made of Bohrium, formerly known as Unnilseptium (an Uns-table, if you will), a highly reactive element that no chemical should ever touch. You are allocated 61 seconds to complete each task.

Can you survive long enough to complete the final challenge of concocting the ultimate chemical - Ludumium?

Very nicely polished entry! Fun to play and with a good, clean art style. Great job!

I really love the idea! Although the timer is a bit punishing (read: I am bad).
I think you could come up with some really cool if you kept working on this.

Scroll wheel sensitivity made it an unusable option, definitely would recommend using q and e. Graphics were nice and clean, and really thought all the sound effects were a nice touch. Great job!

Terrific. Stirring is awful, everything else is reasonably smooth. Well designed levels. Great Entry.

Dope. So polished and such a good idea. Physics puzzler that's masquerading as chemistry :)

Nice job guys! I think it's a fun interpretation of the theme and the puzzles are interesting :)

Very polished and almost relaxing game.
I really like the mechanics I only wish that the timer was for something like score or raking stars because i'm a bit slow and I cannot complete some of the late levels.
The game is really cool guys keep it up!

This game bring me back when I was in chemical class. I like the fact that it seems simple, but it's still challenging.

Realy nice game! Everything is very polished and some of the levels really require some real thought and puzzle solving. Great/10 would play again

Very frustrating, but in a good way. I'm not very good at it, but it was really fun to play! Maybe it's because I'm bad, but the level difficulty seems to jump up quite a bit from level 1 to level 2, but it was addicting so I kept trying. Very cool game overall!

You know, people say these games are rage-inducing. But I on the other hand, find them strangely chill...
Oh, who am I kidding. I was absolutely screaming in frustration by the second level.
But the half-rage half-funny and three seconds later you're laughing bitterly at yourself kind of screaming.
It's like playing Getting Over It in science class. Good game!

I liked this a lot. The controls are just lose/tight enough to make it feel just right.

Absolutely great!
I had a lot of fun and it lasted long ^^.
It was difficult to get everything in time ready but I like a good challenge!
This was so much fun, I played it for 30 minutes (and because I was to stupid to get it done faster ^^)

Great game!

More of it!

Love the design and the minimalistic aesthetic! Also nice for getting the theme on two levels (unstable particles and physical containers). Unfortunately the timer was too fast for me and I had to give up after failing the Brokenium level (which I thought was really nice otherwise) like 5 times. I think the game would work very well without the timer as most of the fun for me comes from coming up with solutions rather than executing them. I felt so smart when I came up for a solution for Floatium only from the name :D

Overall a very good game, had a lot of fun trying to mix chemicals while memorizing the recipe and also, the old-styled explosion animation is so funny :joy:

I'm glad that my time working in a research lab wasn't this tense! :)

I love the idea and the level design was really well done. It felt a little bit too easy to make the elements fly out of the beakers and explode, but I enjoyed the challenge and the levels were interesting enough to make me want to keep playing and get past them. I would play this again!

Overall a solid physics puzzler! One of those games that you think is going to be simple but continues to provoke deeper and deeper thought. Nicely done.

The art's charming, and I like the jingle. The controls took a bit of getting used to, but it's a solid physics game.

WOAH! Amazing idea, so addicting. Gameplay makes a lot of sense, chemistry is literally hard to handle. The simple graphic design is to the point, and the idea of introducing volatile elements that float up with the Bunsen burner is genius! Congratulations! Favorite entry so far.

Very original idea, it's a nice game but oh god I would like 10 more sec at every level it's hard.

This game is exceptional. Really smart puzzles that require some thought, and they all build upon each other really well. The art style is also really cool and minimalistic. I really like how the recipes are consistent and how mechanics introduced in previous levels come back. My only problem was that I couldn't solve the level where you had to get 4 orange circles and there are all of those open/shut doors (though I think that was more on me than the game). Overall your game is very creative and fun, and I think it would work really well as a mobile game. Great job!
