You’re a hardliner open source enthusiast who just installed the most Free (as in beer and as in freedom!) OS that you can: Gelato System: 2K38 Edition. But as soon as you finish the installation, you realize that you don’t have functioning graphics or audio drivers! Such is the life of an open source enthusiast…

Loved the meta aspect of the game, also the classic green on black hacker terminal is beautiful

Very weird, very interesting. The idea is honestly really novel. It felt very immersive which is nice.

Interesting game! My brain is toasted right now after the jam, but this was a very interesting take of the theme. I wasn't able to get to the point that the screenshot shows, and I wasn't able to see the nsfw chair picture for some reason, but I at least got to see a poop. 10/10 ![Poop pic](///raw/034/d/z/46a7c.png)

Extremely weird, but very cool. It seems really well made, but honestly I stare at a terminal enough during my day job so I didnt have much patience this time!

I really loved this idea. The game immediately drew me in and I definitely think you played into your audience's hands very well xD. Amazing graphics and aesthetic, overall just amazing.

Love the alternate reality feel to the game. Exploring the system to try to find the puzzle elements really felt good! One bug, up arrow doesn't properly get the latest command, it broke at some point of the game.

Really unlike anything else I've played! It was fun trying to figure out what each next step was. Really feels like an old command line OS! Nice work :)

Neat game! I can't believe you've simulated so much of the bash shell for the theme! I can't help but notice something sinister is about at the same time, such as how clippi's title mentions something about purgatory, though maybe it's a play on the pain of the experience you are portraying?

Unfortunately I wasn't able to enjoy much of it, though. Out of curiosity I set a driver that said it was from the future (the date command said it was the 20th century but the driver was supposed to be from 2001) and then after that the game went into an infinite loop of shutting down the computer because of fatal errors. I can't seem to figure out how to restart the game so I can try out other things.

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone!

@eoshadows I just pushed a fix for that bug. If you load the game again, it should give the error message one more time, then boot successfully back to the terminal.

I love the CLI mystery genre (having made one myself for a previous jam). The look of the screen and the work that went into the output did not go unnoticed. Awesome, awesome entry

Reminds me of how I tried installing certain graphical drivers of a certain GPU manufacturer, except less painful and things worked first try. Great game with a lot of depth and fun!
