Classic bullet hell. A little too difficult for me.

Kudos on having a web build!

Game looks cool, took me a second to understand the mechanics. Really simple, really well made and really polished.

Only thing I don't understand is the games relation to the theme. Other than that, good job!

I really dig the art of the person driving/flying the car, love how the wheel interacts with the controls as well.

Dynamic and fun, you have to be precise. Music fits well.

The gameplay was very dynamic and responsive, that's really good in games that have a lot of bullets on the screen and the sounds and music are good too!
I liked it!

Difficulty is just right! This is just so satisfying to beat all enemies of one color at the same time, well done.

Although it's a very neat idea, I feel like the ability to just spam without regard for color kind of nullifies the mechanic. Maybe some repercussions for shooting the wrong color? Awesome work otherwise!

@bangthewall Yeah, the original idea was to destabilize the ships with their own colors, but it got lost during the way. The dude in the corner seems unstable though  but it's not the best connection to the theme.

The web build is for some an issue: for example the SFX and music doesn't fit as well as it has in the game editor. I'm unaware how to change this in Godot 3.3.4, I'll be glad to hear any tips! Hopefully it will all be ironed out in the next version

@goldenevolution Thanks! We changed the movement mechanics multiple times, glad it worked out.

@denilseven @cagibi Thank you! I was worried a bit during the development about the number of bullets, but it seems like people are reacting to it in a good way.

@gus-goucher Thanks for the kind words! We had an idea in the works, that if player hits enemy ships with bullets with bullet of a different color, the ships would still die, only without the bullet explosion. We settled for a lower firerate, because then this problem would be even worse. It seems we could've still done more. :slight_frown:

I liked a lot the "different color for different enemy" mechanics. The game is fun and immediate, but maybe the trucker's hitbox is a bit too big. Sometimes I died for one tiny pixel overlap too much :D The trucker with the steering wheel in the left corner is a very nice touch!

@der-mondhase Thanks for the kind words and the critique! I agree with you, the collision should be more generous. It's something that completely slipped my mind, even though I often tell others to give player more small benefits, so that they don't feel cheated. Thanks for reminding me.

Not bad! The idea is really interesting, i would have liked a little bit more game feel though.

@richard08 Thanks for the feedback, there definitely could have been more content, but we left it as a kind mvp after 2 days of dev.

Love the concept of this ,though i'm a bit hazy on the link to the theme here. Love the control system but it can be quite frustrating if your terrible at these games ( like me ) to have to keep cycling through colours to get to the right one, maybe fractional damage for incorrect colours instead of only the correct ones working.
Adored the retro sort of 80's style music playing i think that fits perfectly with the tone of the game and the controls seem nice and polished overall great game :)

I liked the classic with color mechanics.
With the theme of jam, of course, there is a complete bobble here, but here is well-chosen music and + for the driver. My record is 100200

The color system make a classic mechanic original and fun to play.

The game seems too hard, I would like a progressive difficulty (like in the game "chicken invaders").

Nice work !

I love the trucker character! I want some cutscenes with that guy in it (have you played Hot Throttle by Cactus?)

Felt like the strategy was to just keep firing and wait until the right bullet fired. It got a bit more strategic in the later levels, where I felt the need to watch which bullets were coming next, but I felt like the mechanic reduced my agency rather than increasing it. A lot of the time it felt like a horizontally scrolling shooter where my bullets had a 25% chance of killing.

Maybe if hitting enemies with wrong colored bullets had some positive effect? Like they might fire out the wrong coloured bullets upon death and kill nearby enemies of that color? I'm not really sure what to suggest. It feels to me like the game is one trick away from being super fun to play.

The cascades of enemy deaths were cool.
