Fancy hat upgrade best upgrade.
The player isn't able to deny an upgrade, which seems like an oversight. Also, I wasn't able to catch a fish with the fishing, so I couldn't even get my fishing fix in.
I wish the game had more to do with the theme, but the graphics were executed well.
The controls felt a bit loose, sliding a bit extra when you unpress the buttons, and the pacing felt a little slow, it didn't seem to get much harder with time. That's all I can see wrong with it, it has a consistent style to it making the art and music even better.
Overall great job on your game and good luck.
Maybe I'd make the controls a little more snappy.. Oh and the coins don't fit the narrative :P Great work!
Like others pointed out - the controls feel a bit too sluggish, but other than that, this is a great retro-made title!
Very good entry!
