Orbital Swing is a space acrobatics game where you swim and jump around the Milky Way. Make the universe yours as you pick up stars, planets and UFO's while freestyling on a groovy stream of dark matter.

05Resized.gif

You can play on custom tracks by importing your own MP3's. The music will affect gameplay, from object spawns to the "space river" changing shape to the sound's spectrum!

HOW TO PLAY

firefox_RopQOQPlZZ.png

  • The game can be played with the Arrow Keys / WASD / ZQSD.
  • Perform a Dash with the Up Arrow / W / Z / Spacebar

07Resized.gif

  • You can dash once per jump and limitlessly while "underwater"
  • Reach for the stars, planets and UFO's to gain points and keep your combo count up

08Resized.gif

  • Grabbing multiple items in one jump gives you even more points!

06Resized.gif

  • Do flips and backflips to gain additional points. These can be done in a row but do not refresh your combo counter!

You are given a rank at the end of your session, from F to A, depending on your score. The mythical S rank can be attained by not missing a single item with an A rank! How high can you go? :open_mouth:

:exclamation: HOW TO IMPORT CUSTOM TRACKS

Disclaimer: Custom tracks can currently only be played on the Windows build!

  • Prepare the track you want to play on, in .mp3 format
  • Click on import and select your track through the file browser prompt that appears
  • Find your track's tempo (BPM) by manually tweaking the BPM value until the white star flashes at the same tempo as the track's
  • You can also easily find your track's BPM by using this handy tool: https://www.beatsperminuteonline.com/
  • Tweak the Offset value if the star beats off-rhythm
  • Validate and play!

Higher BPM means higher difficulty and score requirements!

This. Is.
# FUN!

I love the music and how the screen pulsates with it, at first the guy can be kinda hard to control, but it becomes a second nature after a while of playing. Seriously, with some upgrades, level progression and more content, I'd consider buying it on steam  Love it.

I've found myself trying harder than I acutally expected, so that's a good sign!
The game very easy to start, but is more complex than it seems at first glance. I enjoyed it

This is without a doubt one of the most fun games I've played! This game is a lot of fun, the controls at the beginning are a little difficult but with time I managed to control the astronaut like a pro! The relationship between sound and visual effects gives a great atmosphere to the game!

## STRANGELY ADDICTING

the music kept me playing ... well ... for a bit to long. Very polished down to the beating background in sync with the music.

ENJOYED. that was fun. I like that i was trying to get chains and keep that multiplyer going and just had so much difficulty controlling it. ... that's the point! Fun and neat entry. Liked the music too!

Loved it, it would made an amazing mobile game. Only thing I was a bit disturbed by is that i didn't know when the game would end. The custom aspect off the game is a really nice touch

Hello @namnam, thank you for your feedback !

Indeed, we realized that it may seem like the game has no ending and therefore a progress bar based on the music track time would be a great feature. Sadly we had to cut it due to release deadline, we may integrate it in a post-jam version though :-)

That was a solid experience and boy I suck in this kind of game. :D I love what you did with music and had to try my own. Sadly, I didn't find the way to switch back to the original soundtrack, but chances are I didn't notice the button. Also, I would really appreciate the ability to play with the gamepad's stick to have more control over the direction. Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot!

Here's my playthrough if you're interested:

I realize after one game the game is track based. Then the scoring system makes sense, but there could be some "hazard" obstacles too (e.g. red-lighted knocking asteroids), because now game is too easy to play. The character would also look like different when player are able to dash, while now it is hard to know is dash available. There would also be the process bar for the process of levels track and time left. Learning the game play on most music games are skill-based, so i like and agree with that on this title too

Very polished and adicting game! I had a lot of fun playing this. My score was 153414 x28. The controls took a little getting used to but then it works quite well.

115k points. Not sure how good that is, probably not so much, it it *felt* as if I was doing good, and that's what matters I guess! Very fun, well done. :)

So cool! The music slaps and the fact that the game reacts to it is so nice. I didn't read your text and did assume the planets/aliens would kill me at first. This is so chill!

Really cool that you can import your own music and the game reacts to the music. The astronaut's movement was a little weird, but he is in space, so sort of expected. I am not sure if I missed it on the screen but a timer or something to let me know how long the game is would have been nice.

Liked your game. Easy to play, hard to master. Good implementation! Maybe you should release it as mobile game?

Impressive game - I really liked the main gameplay and the mood. As a physics' game, all mechanics work well as expected - controls, forces, colliders, etc. However the music is a little bit repetitive, but it's not a problem. Your game is well done and very addictive. I had fun playing. You made a solid entry ++

Je vous félicite pour votre excellente entrée. Merci d'avoir joué la mienne et retourné un commentaire. J'apprécie beaucoup. Bonne continuation à chacun d'entre vous ++

Using the wave-shape-thing (no idea how to call it in english) of the music to create the middle area is genius ! That adds a lot of energy to the game.

Really fun! It was a little difficult to control with keyboard, maybe a mouse control option would be easier (or maybe difficult is the point :P) I thought the movement 'felt' really nice though, and the sound was excellent (from the music to the collection sounds). I really enjoyed this one!
