Hot nucleus by c64cosmin
You are one iteration of an AI that is tasked to take care of a nuclear reactor. Try to keep the hot nucleus cool as long as possible if you are the best you will the AI that will control the next nuclear reactor. Let's hope you don't plan to become rogue in the process.
Gameplay
The nucleus of the atom will keep emitting particles. You must hold the corresponding key written on the particle, up until it starts emitting sparks. When the particle starts emitting sparks it means it is neutralized and you must release the key, not releasing the key will make the neutralizer gun, overload the nuclear core.
When the particle is decaying it will be show in blue magnetic fields, do not press the key of a particle that has blue magnetic fields.
The radiation level is displayed in the Geiger counter to the left. If the radiation levels get too high, you had a melt down and it's game over. Your scope is to keep the reactor core as cool for as long as possible.

Still have to add polish and tweak with the numbers so the difficulty scales gradually.

I really liked the music. It reminds me of the intro musics of the Amiga and C64.
@corbeng So happy that you entered in the leader board, thank you very much. Indeed I failed to explain the rules of the game, had a hard time to come to that, an interactive tutorial is a great idea, good thing to keep in mind for the future, thank you! You should try again and beat the highest scores, it becomes harder, also the faster you release the key the more bonus you get
@ghoulean Thank you for playing, yes you are right it's typing game, but your fingers turn into a octopus and you don't know which finger does what
@kumber Glad you liked my game, thank you for playing, yes explaining the game rules was hard, glad to know that they were clear enough, will try to do better next time, thank you!
Funny graphics and original idea! **Currently #5** on the leaderboard with 665 points
The game feels like a twist on a typing game, except instead of typing words, the player needs to hold down various keys on their keyboard.
The 3d modeling was nice and the leaderboard was cool!
When the player is close to losing, the rapidly vibrating molecules in the background start getting hard to look at. Additionally, it's a bit difficult to lose. I actually started typing this review up and left the game running and still had time to go back and finally fail the game.
@fabdynamic The main reason it's working in browser is that I only use textures that are powers of 2 and using GLES 2. Thank you for playing
@mahjoub and @mogaiskii Thank you very much for playing, glad you enjoyed yourselves!
@fakefirefly Really good score, yes there is plenty of time indeed, but you score higher if you time the key holds correctly. Thank you for the advice with the fast moving background, I will change that after the event!
@bentebent Glad it felt good, that means a lot, dunno if you can look around when you need to mash you keyboard, but that's an interesting idea. Thank you for playing!
I really love the beam animation and the particles.
Looking around really would be nice, to spice it up a bit.
And maybe combine particles by having to press two or 3 buttons at once ^^.
Definitely a game that fits the theme!
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
Nice game! The thing I could say is that maybe you should add a sound effect when the sparks appears, it's a bit difficult to look at the letters on the keyboards, the ones on the screen, and take care of the new ones at the same time as being sure that we are not overcharging the one we are already taking care of. Just a sound effect would be perfect.
Maybe make the difficulty curve increase a bit more faster.
Other than that the concept is really cool and the mood is really well done!
Great work!
@schuster Thank you for playing, checking your game right now :D
@mathiouza Adding a sound effect is such a great idea, thank you so much for the tip! Also the difficulty curve increasing faster would also feel good I tend to agree. Thank you very much for playing and for your kind words!!!
@chaosbrick So happy that you've enjoyed the gameplay and the audio, really glad that I hit it off well with the mixing, yes that was the mission, to make people's fingers feel like squids
@spudboy That's a really solid score, glad that you felt the slow ramping up fit, I was very unsure about it's pace.
@nyxkn I have to agree that due to the slow ramping up players might not try again, unless they want to score higher. Glad you've enjoyed it.
@tigerfinch Wow, thank you for the compliment, I still have to learn a lot about composition to get to make such music, but very happy it reminded you of that. Really happy that you enjoyed your play.
@lesinvisible You're lesincredible! Wow so kind words, thank you so much for the playthru. This make feel so good reading such a great compliment.
Thank you all for your replies, I am humbled!
Now to play your games, can't wait <3
@bjornstahl The player is punished if the key is hold for too long, also particles not neutralized will also add some radiation. Also the faster the player neutralizes the particle and releases the key, the more point will be gained. I didn't do a good job to explain that though. Thank you for your review!
@bentglasstube Glad you loved the hectic vibe of the game.
