made by Johnsensei for Ludum Dare 49 (JAM)

A visual novel about your first day working at the Fourth Energy Research Lab. Fourth Energy is a radical new concept, pioneered by Dr. Right. It harnesses the energy of atom splitting, but on a small and manageable scale.

With such a renewable and clean new energy source, what could possibly go wrong?

It’s up to you to find out. Screen Shot 1 small.pngScreen Shot 2 small.pngScreen Shot 3 small.pngScreen Shot 4 small.png

I played through 2 endings! Don't want to spoil any, Diane is a savage though  I had fun with this, I think it was my first text adventure that I can remember. Only constructive feedback, the typing sound can be loud or repetitive. Ya'll did a great job of keeping my attention, good job

this game was pretty fun to play  it was fun seeing all of the different endings. however, i think you should add a skip dialogue option because i wanted to replay the game from the beginning to see how many different ending i could get and it was kind of annoying clicking through all of the dialogues.

Sound and music are great! Very dynamic for a text-based game. Definitely a lot of variety with the choices you can make. My biggest piece of feedback is that it's very easy when you're skipping through previously seen text to accidentally click on a choice you didn't mean to.

Wow this felt really ambitious! So much writing and endings. It appreciated the "go back a few steps" option after hitting a wall. Made it feel like a choose your own adventure book. Nice work!

Nice text, humor, drawings of characters and of course the musical transitions at the right moments increased the mood even more. Nice one!

Great job! This sci-fi novel features surprisingly big amount of content, like a whole solid chapter! Story is catching and sound effects are awesome. I opened 3 endings (except those where u end up dead) and it was really fun :)

I had to publish the post jam version for technical reasons. It incorporates some of the feedback here, like offering to skip ahead to choices if the player has already read a scene on that playthrough. Thanks to everyone here for the plays, ratings, and feedback.

I found four endings, I'm not sure but I think I've explored all the ways and saw all the scenes. Fine graphics and sounds, it's helping a lot for the mood. And this is a very decent amount of scenes for a LD entry! Even if I was expecting one ending for each character saved with me, and one alone (instead of the four actual endings), but I guess this would have need much more scenes, so, much more time
Very well done!

Just shipped the game to the Apple App Store for iPads and soon macOS. And shipped to Google Play, soon for tablets only.
