Gummi Bridges by Joel Davis

A game for LD49 game jam Joel Davis Twitter: @joeld42 joeld42@gmail.com
Introduction
Spawn pools will spawn babby gummis. When they grow up, their color will change and they will seek out another pool that matches their new color.
But there are giant ravines in the way! Oh no! Help out the gummis by building bridges so that they can reach the pools.

How to play
Mostly the on-screen help will tell you how to build stuff. How to build bridges:
- Press the "Build" button to start build mode
- Draw a line between the two Anchors (red spheres) to pick where to build the bridge.
- Draw roads segments and struts from the anchors. Blue anchors can be used for additional support. Segments will be tinted red if they are too long to build.
(There is no undo and you can't edit anything after building it. Those features were cut by the department of squishy transportation as the project was projected to go over time.)
The gummis can only walk on road segments, not struts. Try to connect the level so that all pools are reachable!

Note the web build, text doesn't show up in Chrome on mac, try Firefox or the downloadable one.
There are a few other useful keys:
- Z will pause/resume the simulation. This works in edit bridge mode too but there's no reset so be careful.
- N will toggle the navmesh display. Not super useful but maybe interesting
- V will try and reset the bridge velocity if it gets too wild. It doesn't really work too well.
Built using luxe engine.
Note: Source code is not included since Luxe is still in private preview release, but if you have joined the preview feel free to ask me (joeld) on the Luxe discord and I will be happy to give you access to the project sources.

I managed to get some bridges down, but navigating was a bit too hard! Overall, a crazy good amount of work.
The 3d models and the overall world looked really neat though (zooming was the only thing I was able to accomplish).
This is cool fun little game :D nice work!
Good job!

I managed to make it as well, even on web. But I downloaded the desktop to see if there was any audio.
Would enhance the whole experience quite a bit IMO to have a looping background noise.
All in all though, I quite enjoy it.
Unfortunately i kept crashing the game... Idk how but the bridges i built were all really unstable and kept exploding - they stretched and spasmed out until the game just crashed on me.
The simulation is really well done tho - and i really loved the art :)
but the concept is really cool, i love the idea of a bridge building game where you choose where to build the bridge, i just wish it was a bit more playable
Fun game i had a good time playing it. Keep it up.
