Cat Connect by Zhanna

Cat Connect is a game about the instability of being, where we control a cat who loves to do “tygydyk”. Whether the cat will succeed in establishing a contact with this world or the world will finally turn into a matrix - it depends on you.
Catch lost internet packets to restore energy and plug in cables to stay in this world!

Thanks for your interest!
I tried to find information about issues like this and found that YoYo Games recommended send exe-file to antiviruses vendors, but it can take a lot of time(.
Thank you! We were inspired by the style of the 80s.
Cats saves the world! I like simplicity of this conception. With exeption to green bugs that appears from nowhere.
Lovely entry. The idle animation is just PURRFECT !
I liked the music.
Good job!
Sometimes it's hard to connect to the line, even if you're not "glitching"
The stuttering effect when the player gets low health is a cool idea but the intensity of it makes it really unplayable once your health gets super low.
All in all great game and would love to see it further developed.
Though maybe breaking the controls in the end of HP and taking "last moment success" feel from the player is not a very good idea - even on this jam.
It could be good idea to make the game about making games in the unstable game engine with many exceptions appeared after compile and start the game... inside the game.))
Controls are simple and fully understandable In fact I had some problems with level design because the cat frequently bangs his head to platforms.
I was making it as fast as could and exactly I didn't think to add any disclaimers).
May be next time.
I didn't think about it in this case but it really the same idea!)
Thank you!
Thank you!
It's the main idea of the game. You become unstable in the glitching state.
Thank you! I think at least we will add new levels and some different mechanics in levels design. I hope I will have time to release the game in the future.
Thank you for your opinion!
In this case I tried to beat the theme of crisis in the last minutes before you lost connection in any the same situations. Let it be a main context of this game. Why not?
Using the spacebar to jump into a platformer is more comfortable, in my opinion.
Thank you!
I will try to fix it soon. And I can add spacebar key for jump. Good idea.
The platforms were a bit hard to see, I'd add some contrast there to make the world more readable.
Otherwise, everything looks great!
Thank you anyway!
Thank you! Than you energy is low the cat has more probability turn to the glitch mode. In this mode the cat suddenly can move in random direction that makes too difficult to control it.

Thanks for playing! 🤝
Nice game! I like the art, and the glitching effects with particle zeroes are very cool. The glitching movement was fun too. The gameplay could use some polishing - taking and putting the plug needs to be super precise, at first I thought I was doing something wrong, but I was just a bit off and the plug went to the beginning a few times. Eventually I ended up playing with two hands, one on the E key, a bit awkward, but it worked. Afte I mastered taking and plugging the plug, the game was still very challenging. You could make a hitbox for the plug bigger, but instead I would actually suggest getting rid of the E key altogether - taking and plugging could be done automatically, as the player never needs to drop the plug inbetween the beginning and the goal. The portal not respawning after fail was game-breaking, but I've seen in the comments that you're aware of that. I like the music, it fits the game. And the idea for the game itself is fun, good job :)
Thank you! I fixed any issues in the after-LD-version and decreased the difficulty level a little bit.

Thank you! About movement I wanted to realise the jumpy cat and specially added high jumps.
Okay. I will think about it.
all in all a very creative entry!!

Many thanks!
As mentioned in earlier comments, the random glitching as your energy drops is not a very fun mechanic. It makes recovery from a low-energy situation very hard and frustrating. I figured the best way to deal with it was to just suicide and try again whenever my energy went to below 50%.
Also having to manually connect the plugs with the 'e' key was a bit awkward. I managed to miss the plug by a hair multiple times. So, instead of connecting it my cat just released the plug and I had to fetch it again. It would be more forgiving if you didn't have to plug it in using the 'e' key, or at least have it so that you don't drop the plug if you press 'e' in the wrong spot.
I did manage to beat the game, though, and overall it was a really impressive entry.
P.S. A lot of respect to the person who made the music, it was so atmosferic, cool and driving:D
Music is nice but the loop is very short so it becomes intrusive pretty fast
The binari particles were a cool touch!
I like that you get unstable over time and that you reused it to add more difficulty in the next level.
I think the unstable..ness could be reduced if you are getting closer to a connect because that would make me want to push more for the connection even though the unstable bar is low :)
Loved the chill music and the color palette.
Nice work!!
Nice work :)
I like the art of the cat and the artistic design of the game, also love the glitch effect.
It's funny looking how on the last level the cat runs around franticly dragging the floppy cables to the plugs at light speed.
I liked how the theme of jam was revealed in this game
