Looks awesome!! Unfortunately controls were hard to use and took away from the fun of the game for me

Pretty good! I do think the controls could be improved. The way they are now makes the game way too difficult. But the graphics look great and I think it could be really fun with some changes. Perhaps using the mouse for shooting would be better? Or maybe using the mouse for turning.

I wound up aiming like a turret, not moving at all and just setting myself up near the edge of the screen and spraying the whole screen with bullets in anticipation that stuff would run into them. (Bullets fire about as fast as you can press the spacebar, and the asteroid hit boxes are a bit larger than their images imply.)

The music was awesome and very spacey! The noise and chromatic aberration looked really good too, and for some reason I _really_ liked the black hole animation. I had fun!

This game nails the look and sounds of its style, I love the effect at the edge of the screen and the background music especially. I found something to be a bit off with controlling the ship; while forward and backwards were lightening quick, turning felt like it sometimes only went in one direction and going the other was like trying to turn through mud. This made it rather difficult to target the asteroids, and with the speed that they entered the black hole made the entire game very hard. I really liked the general idea of the black hole getting bigger and bigger as it ‘fed’ and that being what eventually causes you to lose, it makes stopping them from getting there feel like a much more important challenge. Overall a great concept, with a bit more polish on the controls this would be a really fun arcade-style game!

I really enjoyed the retro mood. Pretty neat how the black hole curtailed the movement, and got progressivly harder to control. Once I realised I could shoot through the black hole, it became a little easier. Perhaps if the blackhole deformed the bullets around it, that might be a nice addition.

first of all the music is an absolute banger! graphics are pretty good and so is the idea. however the movement is chaotic and impossible to control.
This game should have a lot more ratings!

Fun gameplay, cool effects and the music choice is very good. The track sounds good by itself and I think it really fits the intense gameplay well. I think the light distortion adds a lot to the atmosphere and to the fact that the ship is near a black hole (which is nicely animated as well - the animation really makes it seem unstable).

The art and the particle effects are great, but I would make the bullets a bit bigger. And maybe increase their speed a bit. Nice job :)

I liked the visuals and music a lot, controls were very iffy though like others are saying. I think with some polish on controls and more variety of objects/increasing difficulty it would be more fun, it was a solid base though.

Man the music and visuals are so awesome. Especially the song is great, it is stuck in my head. Also the idea of an unstable black hole was cool although the gameplay is quite basic. I enjoyed playing but after a while there is not much variation. Also the ship si very hard tocontrol, I ended up just sitting at one point and only rotating and shooting. So overall the controls need some work and the mechanics are quite basic but the music and the visuals really kept it fun for a while.

Cool! The black hole is terrifying! I feel like this is a metaphor for life.
I wish the little bullets could somehow bend around the black hole. The ship was also quite had to move around, I dunno if that was intentional, cool game though ^_^!

omfg that music _slaps_. Kept me playing for ages :)

Found the controls kinda tricky, they seemed to get worse the more I moved?

Love the art syle, especially the chromatic abberation, gave it a really polished feel.

Nice entry!
I love the visual effects.

I was a bit confused at first, but I figured it out. The ship was not very easy to control, but I enjoyed playing.
Also, really good choice of music, I like how it gets louder as the black hole gets bigger.

A really nice take on Asteroids! The artstyle is great and the music is fantastic. The controls have a few issues, though. For one, they appear to be quite unresponsive, like the spaceship had a lot of inertia. Second issue is kinda related to inertia, too - if the spaceship collides with an asteroid, it starts spinning and never stops. Like after getting hit it keeps that rotational momentum forever, even if you move and turn around manually. The shooting also could use a few changes, like giving allowing the player to hold the spacebar instead of having to hit it each time they want to shoot. All those issues together made it so the best way to play for me was to stay in one place and spam the spacebar as fast as I could, only rotating to spray the entire game area with bullets. Fix those couple of things, and you have a really nice base game to expand upon, with more asteroid types, upgrades, maybe even some enemies? The possibilities are endless. Well done on your jam entry!
