Not bad! Surprisingly tricky, the difficulty snuck up on me.

There was a window in the top left displaying the values of all of the different variables in the game. I think removing that window would've been beneficial since the UI is good enough to show everything you need to know.
I have no idea what development was like but maybe you could've just positioned it offscreen if it was important to the programming.

Nice simple demo for LD, core game loop works and no issues, I like the concept (my game is based on the same thing!) and overall it's just a decently finished little demo, my only qualm is the audio is way too loud!
