The difficult life of a newborn planet by Saltysa

Life is hard when you are an unstable newborn planet! When a big asteroid menaces to put a end to your short existence, you sometimes have to rely on someone else. Create a pretty and balanced world, prevent natural disasters and help your inhabitants to thrive!

After your planet is born, you have three biomes to choose from.
Each coming with it's own catastophe!
But worry not, you can click those to try and prevent them.
Watch your "planetfolks" invest your tiles with their villages and cities.

But you're still unstable, and too much changes can cause disastreous results !
✩ Tips and tricks ✩
These little guys are here to help you know :

If your planet is balanced enough for your population to prosper

If your planet is stable enough to support new changes
If you have enough residents to defend yourself against that pesky asteroid!
Concerning the natural catastrophes :
Mountains are immune to tsunami
Forest fire will spread to nearby forests
Villages protect your tile from a disater, but will sadly be destroyed in the process
Volcanos might happen if you build too fast, or if you replace a tile for another.... And you can't stop them!
Our Team: We are Andzura, Heo, Saltysa and Scratch. So it's the same team as last time, except now we have a name: Iommi Iommi Pro Skater Studio! It's named after our cat, and yeah he does skatebording, cool huh?
We shared all the work on the Game Design front without clear distinctions, and: - Saltysa did all the visuals and barelly complained - Andzura did a lot of programming and a lot of coffee - Heo saved us all with her Git alchemy and practiced her algorithmic sorcery - Scratch cooked, broke his guitar strings, and pretended to be as good a programmer as the others - Iommi slept during the day and kept us awake during the night. He also mastered the Double Tre Flip
Thanks for playing our game!

Great little cutscenes and the music really added to the general chill vibe the game gave.
Really good job, i enjoyed it!
A game that with invested time, could/can easily work as a much bigger game =)
Did get some problems with choosing tiles after the first meteorite hit, twice the game became unresponsive and i had to reset.
Other than that top notch work on everything =)
- Music 6/5 (+1 for using a real guitar )
- Graphics 5/5 (very esthetic)
- Mood 5/5 (very positive and calming)
I'm guessing you will be in top 10 in some categories! :fingers_crossed:
Keep it up guys!
@mlkvr Thank you for playing! Did you get the happy ending? Your planet looks really pretty
@jeffrey-hwang We're so glad you played the game multiple times! From the screenshot you probably didn't have enough forest to kick up the first cutscene. The friendly aliens come after the first cutscene
@albyk Thank you for playing! The timer doesn't pause during mini games, but you can't have new catastrophes as you're playing the mini games so we thought that was fair
@appoxgames @anaxie-studio Oh no you got the sad ending :'( The planet needs a lot of inhabitants in order to win
@underlig Oh no you found a bug! We'll have to try to fix it and we'll let you know if we do!
@crescentodyssey Thank you for your comment! Hotkeys are a really good idea
I subscribe 100 % to what @owca said!
@alex-aspa The start of the game is really relaxing. We didn't make it clear enough, but if you click on the planet tiles, you can add biomes to it
@snowpriestess Thank you so much! It means a lot to me coming from you! I love your art !!
@purrseus Your comment made our day! We're happy you liked it, thank you for playing !
you took the time to make an introduction and cutscenes that's rare in gamejams + they are very well made and set up the tone quite well !
I had one bug on my first playthrough where my mouse could not interact with the planet but my second playthrough made it to the end. Good job everyone !
The minigames on the other hand were a little bit annoying after a while.
The music was relaxing and it fits well to the gameplay. I finished the game with the laser shot. It was a nice experience :)
@brads-space Thank you!
@lllarso Thanks for your feedback! Happy that you got the good ending!
The art and UI does a great job at guiding the player without a lot of tutorializing needed, though if you go for a full release with this, then it may be a good idea to have a "starter planet" tutorial to explain some of the more intricate mechanics, as they weren't as quick to pick up naturally.
The way you have to collect rocks to build the planet gave me Katamari vibes, which I think could lead to an interesting concept for progression. Like building bigger planets for new civilizations with their own technologies to support you.
Really great entry here! Hope to see if you guys flesh it out further.
Liked the gameflow
But for some reason after a while I couln't do any changes to my world.. Still, I got a pleasure playing this!
