Tiny little PSX style "horror" game for the spookyween month!

NOTE: Windows Defender seems to sometimes detect Final Slumber as a false positive. I don't think there's anything I can do about this but please bear with it and don't let that stop you from giving it a go

The atmosphere is good, you nailed the looks of the game, the fps controller is also very smooth, sprinting feels satisfying and not clunky and "wooden" like on some fps controllers. As you said yourself on itch, its short, but the foundation is here and its good. Horror game with these looks/mechanics would definetly come out great.

Even if its pretty short, everything that is here is simply fantastic the atmosphere is amazing as well! I only wish there were some more distinctly horror elements. Had to use internet explorer to download the game however, heh.

I like the atmosphere, and the story is overall pretty good, but the end could been a bit more interesting. Overall a pretty good jam game. Well done.

Wow! You really nailed the PSX thing! I know it was a short game, but the tone and mood were both really good! Fully expected something scary to show up as I was leaving haha.

We actually made a PSX-style game, too (feel free to check it out). I'm a big fan of how you handled the text and interactions, it all felt really nostalgic haha.

Nice work!

This needs more plays imo, such a cool graphic style, really takes me back to my first time playing games with half life. Really nailed the mood on this one. I thought that the player was a little bit grippy on the surfaces so it was slightly hard to move in tight areas, but other than that I think this is a great submission. 5 for mood most definitely

So moody! I love the little world building bits and how you uncovered the story asynchronously by interacting with objects. I definitely felt a little spooked and unnerved as I played it, especially on the walk back to the end. My only complaint is that I couldn't figure out how to make the game any larger - it was stuck in a relatively small window on my desktop. Other than that though, it was really great! You nailed the aesthetic with the graphical and audio choices. Awesome job!

I really wanted to see more of this. Fantastic atmosphere and graphics and a really intriguing setting. I want to know more about what even happened. Also huge props for not having any jump scares. You just let the environment build the tension.

Amazing psx style and great atmosphere! It's only missing a creepy ambient music. Wish there was also some scary entity to haunt the place. Controls are smooth and the interactions well made. Good job!

Nice little PSX style horror. Pretty atmospheric.

Some remarks on polishing:
1. Black screen at the beginning after "This game contains scenes" message confused me, looks like some text supposed to be there but has gone.
2. Game window is pretty small on 4K display, so it is hard to see things on dark scenes.
3. Character got stuck in second gate after closing it.
4. Played using mouse and keyboard: feels that camera has too much acceleration.

Good job!

This was an awesome narrative game! I even pulled out my controller to get the full experience. I think you nailed the style, down to the floating/spinning props that you find.

I appreciated all the thought in the level design. The moving, living walls were a nice touch. And the way the heart slowed down .. very effective. I did feel emotionally connected to the "cave".

I do wish that after the first locked door (once you "taught" me how a locked door responded) that I didn't have to keep reading "the door won't open" -- but that's a small preference. I do think the collisions were a little clunky in some corridors.

I really wanted to see a "second act" where the cave got angry and wouldn't let me leave! This was great, thank you!

Nice game. I feel like some collisions are a little too big and restraint our movement. But great job, the end just make me sad.
