Unsteady by guimoliveira

Another weird platform game for my collection.
As usual, I didn't use any engine/framework/library, just JavaScript.

The physics is kind of weird and there are some bugs, but it's still better than I expected.

Try to get to the end as quickly as possible and put your name on the leaderboard.

You can restart from the first level by pressing [R]
Good luck!

Nice game.
I especially like the movement mechanics needed to solve the later levels... It was a nice "ah ah!" moment when I found the solution.
Good job on your entry.

Great job on this one! I am stuck on level 7 but will return to see if I can best it. I like how the mechanics play. I feel like maybe he falls a little _too_ fast if you a/d. Almost faster than I could react, but still was really fun. Good job

Interesting game the balancing is maybe a little too sensitive. Love to see where it could go from here

lovely game!
The collision was a bit funky on walls, and the game was pretty tough, but overall a fantastic idea and wonderful execution I enjoyed playing it and after I got the hang of it, it was pretty entertaining. Epic submission!

Well done! Very difficult but also enjoyable and funny. Varying the pitch on the injury sound would -- well, add variety, which could be nice. It was easy to learn the controls and fun to use them.

No joke: in seven years of competing in this jam, this is the best game I have played, it's absolutely delightful.

Great game! Really enjoyed some of the spatial thinking required. Managed to get on the leaderboard too :)

pretty hard sometimes, but never felt unfair, the physics were weird, but understandable, the puzzles were clever and satisfying to solve, never felt too far of a jump in difficulty or an obscure solution, overall, great game!

Graphics and sound design are sad.. Now that we got that out of the way, I think this is the game I enjoyed most in all the games I've tried here!!! It took me a little while to get the jist of the thingy, but once I got it damn was it fun!! So beautifull in it's simplicity, yet I could barely quit playing! GREAT JOB!

I loved the idea, totally fitting to the theme!! I enjoyed playing it a lot, even if i wanted to throw my computer a couple of times XD. It is pretty hard, cant decide if making it less sensitive would be more fun or too easy... I like the simplicity of it, and the sound effect for when he dies. Still, i would add a bit more color. great game!

Nice game that perfectly fit the theme! I love the level idea that the player can turn 180 degrees to hang on the platform. It provides a new way to use the turning function.

Very nice use of the theme. Took me much longer than 43 seconds, but enjoyed all of it.

Just in JavaScript? That's pretty cool.

most creative game I've seen in a good while. fantastic.

replayable with the speedrunning element and I'd say the mechanics are almost completely nailed down, if you tweak them a bit more I'd say you'd have a great base of mechanics for a full game. lots of levels with creative solutions, level 7 specifically was fantastic. I expected it to be a typical "shoot and have the bullet bounce off the wall" so when I realized the real solution it was a great moment. One of my favorite entries so far.

Liked the game ! I found it a bit hard at times, but it was still very fun. It fits the theme very well, and the upside-down mechanic was super creative. Nice entry !

I could write a whole essay on how to speedrun this game (I beat "the developer" by 4 seconds). It's very addictive if you figure out how to play. This game has quite a lot of depth to master. It's really cool to play.

Sometimes there's a bug when you flip from the bottom up, but the controls haven't changed yet and you're going in a direction you don't want to go. Also when you just picked up a weapon, but for some reason it doesn't fire at the same moment, but fires at another moment at the same time.

@ghostofsheriff @nikaz Looks like you guys played a lot. :astonished:

**0:39.75** and **0:40.76**. Great times! I am very happy to see that you liked my game, and had fun playing it.
Strangely, I liked being defeated this time. Thank you for beating my record.

However, I will try to regain first place later. I think 35 seconds is possible.
Removed some repeated entries to show more names in the leaderboard. ~~I hope you don't mind.~~

@ghostofsheriff About the bugs... The first one is on purpose, I can't explain very well, but it's necessary. When you flip it, if you release the key and press it again it will switch directions. The second one I don't know what could be, it never happened to me. Thanks for letting me know anyway. I will try to fix it in the future.

Insane how quickly some people beat this haha. First playthrough was just under 8 minutes. Really amusing to play, and interesting level design once you start to learn the inversion stuff.

@guimoliveira Can you remove these two nicks? This "a random guy" is one of NikaZ's attempts (we're friends from the same team). And the empty nickname is mine.

I can't believe that a time of 35 seconds is possible. I think 37 seconds is what I can achieve, not 35.. But I want to see it.

This was not an easy game, but it was incredible fun and addictive, I really enjoyed it!

I'm very impressed that this was made in just javascript that's a very cool way to make a game :D
