[raw]
made by unprompted for LD33 (COMPO)
Harry the crab-monster is preparing for a big celebration this evening when he is rudely interrupted by an adventurer. Are YOU the MONSTER that Harry needs to be ready on time for the party?

Controls:
ASDW or Arrow Keys - Scuttle.
SPACE - Engage snippers.
Z - Crab stare.
X - Crab jump.

I had technical difficulties dealing with audio. You probably want to turn down your volume.

I love the way the Crab controls! Very fun!
Sounds were a little loud for my headphones, but that
was an easy fix! Fun game!

Pretty cool. My ears died when I died. The Uke music was a little out of place, but soothing..

Crab is nicely animated and cute and controls well. It got a little crowded and hectic towards the end but I was able to beat it without dying. Crab battle!

I love the idea of a "reverse boss battle", but in practice it could use some work.. The combat mostly boils down to attacking with claws and using the jump when they get too close. The ukulele music was out-of-place and repetitive.

I really liked the atmosphere of this game. Everything about it -- the introduction, the animations of the crab, the (despite the technical difficulties) audio and the congratulations screen -- really makes for cute, little, lighthearted game experience. I felt like the game was a bit too easy, with some strategies (navigating to a corner and spamming spacebar, moving enemies into place with crab jump and firing crab stare, those types of things) being overpowered, but overall it was positive experience, and good for 48 hours. Congrats!

Happy to reach the end, I started to play the background music with the cutting sound and three crabs appeared to celebrate to enjoy the music more loudly than before. 8/8 would play with the clamps sound.

This is my favorite LD33 entry so far. The music and the text blurbs about your abilities and the setting is all brilliant. It all meshes extremely well: the animations and the sound effects along with the little dance the crab does. Wonderful. As soon as I started snapping my claws along with the music I knew exactly what the game was going to be, and that all but excited me for what was to come.

Not only that, but the game's concept was extraordinarily well fitted to its medium: this shortform game with a quick pun and NO scoring is the perfect way to deliver this delightfully designed character. I can't praise this enough.

Congrats on this entry!

Neat little game - it felt like you were the boss from a classic zelda game or something!

I loved moving the claws around as I attacked! I feel like some things could be sped up a bit, the jumping and the laser eyes especially.

I love it. The controls were a tad awkward, but it was all worth it for just how wacky and hilarious it was.
