Description

Thermal Runaway is a puzzle/parkour FPS where you race against the clock! Collect as many crystals as you can before the reactor explodes. Buy yourself more time by depositing cryo-cells into the reactor to cool it off.

There is currently a bug when you play a second time. Close and relaunch the game if you want to play again without bugs

Really impressed with the scope of this game. The mood and overall aesthetic are really well done. The controls were a bit floaty, but overall really good.

The scope is very impressive, and the art is polished! I like the core concept of the game, however, I did find some of the level design to be confusing at times.
Overall, though, great work!

Like some of the other comments I found the controls to be pretty floaty, and the level design did confuse me a little. Overall I absolutely love the graphical polish of your game, really enjoyed this!

I'm glad that I've bookmarked your game because I reckon you guys don't have that much time to play n rate others which caused this game not to be featured on the front page. It felt refreshing to see 3d parkour game in LD I love fast paced action so I enjoyed every bit of it. good job, congrats to the team!

I like the voice a lot, it added a lot to the atmosphere. Great interpretation of theme, I felt very stressed running around trying my best to prevent everything from blowing up.

It's rare to find a 3d game in a Jam, it's even more rare to find a good looking 3d game in a Jam. You managed to make it great looking, superb entry!

A very cool and very well polished entry. The graphics look great and are very consistent and I found the gameplay straightforward and very enjoyable. The theme is incorporated well too and there's is plenty of content. Well done!

Would like more responsive controls to walk in your oh so nice looking world!
Your art is amazing

Nice game, Looks very polished! The only thing is it's pretty easy to get lost. Maybe add a map/minimap? I barely found my way out of the maze. I think after the reactor blew up the first time, the timer never continued. I also had trouble right-clicking to put the water things in. Good job, one of the best I've reviewed in LD50!

beautifull graphics, controls are ok, audio is nice, noticing when i was getting hit was HARD, maybe a small red flash on the borders or a louder sfx would be nice, enemys traspassed doors and when they dint if i stick too close to the door they hurt you through it. I died on my first run, as expected, and on the second run i managed, dont know how, to bug the reactor explosion so i could check everything with no preasure. The gas room is way too tight of a timing to do it. i suggetst lowering the gas dmg or making the gas slower. if any of them is changed, maybe add a ladder or a way for players to get out of hole if they fall, even more if my loot stays were i die and theres no way of getting out if you try to get it back, overall a good game entry. Good work guys.

I am simply amazed that this game was as extensive as it was considering the time constraints. I had a really tough time keeping the reactor up, but thankfully due to a glitch I was able to keep exploring and eventually find what I think was everything (those red, yellow, and green cards were hard to find). And on top of the scope you have a great visual style, tight controls, and a great concept. Awesome work!

The visuals of this game were killer! Good vibes all around and the audio was really well put together. It's rare to see full visuals and audio that all work together well like this. My one gripe would be that I wished the character moved a little faster, which is just my preference for FPS games in general :p

One bug I found though was that on repeated playthroughs, the game wouldn't restart after the reactor exploded.

Awesome graphics! Some improvements I can think of:
- Render the weaposn on a different camera layered on top of the normal view to stop the weapon clipping through walls
- Visual indicator for death
- Maybe an easier way to tell how close the reactor is to splodin
- Maybe a map?
- Bug when reactor explodes (you already know about this one)
- Smoother/More responsive FPS controller

Apart from these minor things, this is one of the most polished games i've played. Great Job

Graphics, audio, and mood are all on point! I agree with a lot of the others that a map would be nice, I got lost like, a lot. :) Other than that, this entry was really awesome and I think you did an amazing job!

I really liked the graphics and the art. Movement was solid too.

I only found 2 bugs: not dying when the reactor exploads, and going to negative hp

Aside from those really good job!

Awesome game! I really like the individual level sections, but a little less backtracking/dead ends would make the level design shine even more. Also the options would benefit from a mouse sensitivity setting.
I love the consistent art style!
Great job!

Awesome entry! Not realy my type of games, byt still fun to play. Only thing little bit off-putting was movement, especially jumping. Like, no keeping of momentum (lettin off W in mid air just stops you where you are - insta kill on some puzzles)

Really cool game, like the concept, good job for making this in such short time. What are the crystals for, though? I only got to using blue cards, reactor always melted  I might've not gotten to using them maybe? I got lost sometimes, so I'd appreciate it, if there was an indicator for reactor or something  Really like the sounds and announcement, really made it feel like some sci-fi lab.

5* menu screen. As someone with an abnormal aspect ratio monitor I really appriecated all the various graphics options.

This is super hard wow, I feel like it's a game that takes a perfect knowledge of the level and perfect inputs to beat, knowing the VERY FEW routes back to the entrance is hard, did you make them all look the same voluntarily? Cause I was getting lost for sure.
I wasn't too fan of the level design and I was bothered that there was no feedback when I was losing health, but other than that the concept is well executed, interesting, graphic are cool, audio is dope, the mood is there, I had fun playing it :)
