About this LDJ

Our 6th LDJ in a row. This time around, we had a hard time trying to figure out what game to make. In the end, we chose a game that consists of some familiar minigames and wraps it all up in our favorite genre: player vs computer/program.

For the last few hours, we also had a new crew member, as @Nymerit joined us and helped with the graphics. Thanks to her, we managed to make some of the minigames visually different from the old classics. A great performance for having Aseprite open for the first time ever.

Also special thanks to our friend Marek, who joined us for a few hours with great ideas and made a music loop for the game!

Very original! Like the artstyle and the idea of a rogue part of the computer.

Really fun! You basically coded a bunch of games into one game, really great stuff. Love the rogue.

@waysneighborgo2 @grimpuppet @0x-void-x0 Thank you for rating.

@0x-void-x0 @grimpuppet We originally wanted to create 8 minigames, but in the end we preferred to keep our sanity

@mira yeah no kidding lol, if you did 8 minigames you would've been gone by now. I think the game is fun as it is and you guys should give yourselves a pat on the back (or give it to each other, it's easier that way I think)

Would you consider to make a linux or web build? I would love to try out your game.

I must say I had so much more fun than I had expected!
The premise and the conversation is fun to follow, minigames are diverse and do not take too long, art style is captivating and unique.

Audio (typing sfx) gets somewhat disturbing after a while, but its good quality.Splash screen SFX is a bit too loud for my taste.

Overall, really cool entry. Congratz!

THink this fit the theme very well, especially with the shut down at the end, noticed a typo, Bet you never played "game like this" or something to that effect right before the flappy bird part (unfortunately it was true and I died immediately, heh)

@pke1029 It's already in the webGL version. I'll do anything for you

I love the mini game style you are going for in this game. My suggestion would be to make the game more fast-paced such as those found in WarioWare, I think it can give the game a sense of urgency and keep the player on their toes. Does the letters in the snake mini game has any significance? Otherwise, I think it is a fun game.

@pke1029 Thank you for rating. The letters have no meaning, just food for the :snake:

surprisingly entertaining, I wish the dialogs could be cut shorter with a an earlier click

Cool game! I like the Win95 graphics!
Nice warioware type feel with some real classic games!!
Might be nice if you could skip the intro "video" after the first time you die so you can get back inteo the action!

Noice game, there are so many different mini games in the game which keeps me interested. In the :snake: game since the food has letter on it at first I thought I need to press that button, but I figured it out later. Very great job, congratulations for finishing it!

Nice collection of minigames. The "true end" is the countdown?
🎤 mira
05. Apr 2022 · 17:48 UTC
@kromeboy Thank you for rating. Yes, the countdown is over and the game should shut down (does not work in webgl). We thought a lot about the end and finally chose this variant due to the running out of time. Having 1 more day, we would definitely come up with a better ending

@mira I came here to ask the same question about the countdown. It felt like it should've killed the program, it's too bad you can't do that in WebGL the same! The minigames were well done and the dialogue was entertaining, enjoyed it!

I remember playing those games as a kid. Good job in implementing them into your game and in so little time.

Humorous story and nice mini-games! I found the user interface very appealing. However, I was surprised by the ending in the WebGL version, since the game stopped. I waited some time because I thought that maybe something still had to load in the background. I would advise some sort of end screen.

@nardandas @misterjbro Yes it's a pity that the webGL version doesn't work as it should :slight_frown: the right feeling from the end of the game only occurs in the Windows version. But it would be a shame to lose players on other platforms, so it's a sacrifice. Thank you for rating and finishing the game until the end.

@mira I recommend putting a little (Recommended) thing on the Windows downloadable version. I try and respect those when I play. Otherwise I usually just use webgl as it's easier

Nice entry! You keep it simple, but made it funny. I liked the dialogs and always stopped to think about how to implement each minigame, haha, they're so classical! Great work!

I recorded myself playing, message me on the Jam’s discord @ Dark Peace and I’ll send it to you. It was pretty fun but I think I had a bug at the end, it just made me lose instantly.

Also "virus loading" sould be outside the textbox so it's not mistaken with the name of who is speaking. And the games shouldn't start while someone is talking.

Multi mini games with cool narrative. The graphics looks really great but It seems there is a small art variation, the bird design seems little different than the main art. Just take into account to keep a solid aesthetic.

Good job!!

Very fun! I liked the overall concept and how it is multiple mini-games compiled into one game. The dialogue was humorous and enjoyable and the gameplay was simple and classic! The only nitpick I would have would be that the bird in the flappy birds mini-game was a much higher resolution pixel art compared to everything else, but other than that, very nice job!

I love the dialogue, and the minigames are fun! I love how when the computer "talks" the traces on the board light up. Also the little dots sliding along the traces are really nice! All around a pretty solid bundle of minigames. Great job!

An interesting concept that fits the theme well! The presentation overall was very well done although the art style is inconsistent at points (particularly the Flappy Bird minigame). Great entry ^-^
