Sell similar items to keep customers in your shop

How To Play

The merchants of Schattenwald have long figured out that Players have a loop hole in their source code: If you offer an item that is similar to the last sold item, they will buy it as well.

What

The world of Morth has to offer everything that the adventurers heart aches. Unfortunately you are not an adventurer but a shopkeeper in the forest town.

Adventurers come and go and you have to remain in your shop. You try your best to keep the adventurers occupied in your shop by offering items.

About the game

This game was made 100% from scratch during the Gamejam.

  • Music
  • 3D Art
  • Audio (yes even the birds)
  • Code
  • Shaders

Tools used - Unity - Blender - Ableton Live - Krita

Disclaimer Morth is not a game. I made it up. Any overlap with existing games etc is unintended.

If you have a ultra widescreen the game will be rendered in a funky (not the good kind of funky) manner :)

Cool game! I really like the idea of selling items like this. Is it random when the costumer decides to leave? It'd be cool to have a way to keep them for more time based on the items you pick. Nice work tho!

Thank you for your feedback! :)

@solanumteam
The core mechanic is to sell chains of items that have an overlap of properties.
If you sell a magic hat you can sell another clothing item or another magic item and so on. The customer leaves if you can not offer any item that has overlap with the last sold item.
And then there is the scroll of confusion which can come handy at some point ;)

I <3 the sounds and the idea.

Little confused at the beginning.

I really enjoyed the concept of selling to customers! Maybe a queue of customizers would be a great next step! Some who are impatient or some who are unsure of what they really want.

Expanding on this core game idea you have here has a lot of great potential! Keep it up.

It would be nice to be told what is going on? Why am i giving them items, am I earning money? The idea could be fleshed out a bit.

I like your game! The mood and music are the best! What if after one customer could come another? Otherwise it seems strange to be loosing when you simply don't have any items of the sort wanted. Good job!))

I kinda don't get. I mean, how game should be played? 7 sold at max. Maybe I'm just that bad at finding similar items.

Nice game, success seems to be random and depends on what items you get. The sounds were great, the descriptions funny. Overall it has a very cool vibe :)

Really interesting card-game concept! I'd be interested in playing an expanded version of this. The scroll of confusion is a nice sequence-breaker, and brings other ideas to mind! Kind of reminds me of magical-solitaire? Art was really nice as well, great work!

I like the idea and story behind the game. I don't exactly get why the customer would leave, so I think that needs some clarity. Good game though.

The music, art, and cards are well done.
The gameplay needs explained a little better, but I would be interested in seeing an expand version of this.

Really nice concept! It was fun trying to figure out what items the customer wanted and selling them. I really liked the graphics and the music!

Noice graphics and audio. I like the names those adventurers have, like the names people have in mmo rpgs lol. Good job.

Interesting idea!

I think that if you put some little icons showing the type of each item, and the types the buyer is looking for, it would make the game easier to understand and play.

I liked the Scroll of Confusion heh
