Not bad, I think add some music will be better

Needs some music. The shooting mechanic was kinda pointless since they can't die, I would have liked a bit more stun on the enemies

Nice! I love the idea of the "uneffective" weapons!

Really cool game ! Loved the idea of using the weapons in a different way than usual. the visual are neat, the level is big enough the difficulty is just hard enough to be challenging & not too frustrating.
The only thing missing is music :)
Overall, a pretty solid & fun game for 48h ! Great work :)

Nice one! I would enjoy it more with more ammo even if it doesn't kill, it allows knockback, so it would extend a bit longer at least and make it more action. Also random spawns  Other than those 2 suggestions it was nice to play.

I love the art style! This would be a great project to expand on. I'd love this with upgrades and maybe a base :) great submission

Cool concept! I like the visuals, and the controls and gameplay are good. There's a world of possibilities with this idea of using weapons just to stagger enemies. The game could be based on stalling long enough to go to the next level, maybe the city is out to be destroyed but you have the mission to gather the maximum amount of monsters before they blow everything up or something.

Anyway, interesting project! Good job!

There are some places where you can hide and the monsters will never chase you there. I liked the idea. Maybe adding "hunger" to force the player to move and respawning items will increase the fun.

I liked the enemy design and the visuals in general, all contributing to a dark, apocalyptic mood. Speaking of mood, some music (even some very simple notes playing on the background) would have done wonders! Gameplay felt nice for a while, but I quickly started feeling helpless and doomed -- which matches the game (and jam) theme, but I don't feel much inclined to keep playing if I don't see some sort of progression as I go.

Controls are good, too (I don't like these "move with keys, aim with the mouse" games, but apparently it's just me :stuck_out_tongue:).

Cool game, thanks for making and sharing!

I also liked the post-apocalyptic feel. Play is very fitting with the theme. I liked trying to get them stuck, and to that end, in addition to weapons, a 4th weapon option that puts down temporary barriers would be really interesting.

Thank you all for the feedback, I've read them all so far and I'm playing and rating your games too.
Some highlights on the insights you guys gave me:

Unfortunately I couldn't bother to work on music this time, not only I'm very unskilled at it, I really didn't manage to put too much time on this project (eye sore and other stuff).

Very happy on the feedback about the mood and enemy designs! I only ever do pixel art for those challenges so I'm happy to learn I'm on the right way about it.

@thumpertws @mook @hmightypirate and others gave me some good ideas for expanding on this game. After the jam I thought about having enemies that have global sight AND can go through walls (probably have them a bit transparent to show that), as a way to force the player to move instead of hiding in a corner forever. The hunger/food pickup is a good idea too. Same for having a base of sorts, maybe having to go out and pick up supplies and bring back to base. And many possibilities on adding sort of game progression, but I really wanted to go with the "delay the INEVITABLE" so I left the game as just an arcade/score type.

Thanks again all for playing my little game!

Looks like you've already read all the previous reviews and comments, and taken the critiques to heart! So I just wanted to throw a compliment on the pile. I liked the art and the enemy design were cool! Looked really other-worldly. Well done!

I liked the monster design, especially the one that grows and shrinks.
