Nice throwback to doodle jump. It could use a bit of polish, such as clouds layering behind the fire, and pickups being worth less. There was also an issue where I jumped while still under platforms near the beginning of the game. Other than that, this was great fun. Good job on adding multiple themes.

Thanks for the feedback! @trev3lyan What do you mean worthless? There are two pickups: One gives you +100 points (which is quite a lot) and the other one is a jetpack or did I miss something and something doesnt work? :dog:

Thanks again for playing!

@jkniest I mean I think the powerup should be worth less than 100 points since it takes a fairly long time to get 100 points by climbing. Just my opinion though.

@Trev3lyan Ahh okay! Understood you wrong. I thought you meant, the pickups were worthless :face_palm: Thanks!

Well that certainly wasn't the direction I was imagining a fox would escape towards 😅
Love the calm relaxing music and smooth animations, makes for a very pleasant game experience!
I also appreciate the inclusion of top scores at the end.

Really enjoyed this one! The movement control felt really good, and the different visuals and audio for the stages kept it interesting!

Well done. Nice twist with the direction and the power ups. I played it a handful of times and found it challenging each time.

I wish you weren't forced to submit your score every time, as it sort of prevents you from being able to try many times quickly. Fun though :)

Love the highscore feature! Those kind of features really make for a good overall experience. Definitely a fun little game.

Nice parody of doodle jump. The game is beautiful and the mechanics of platform jumps are still good. I would like to see some new mechanics in the future. Good luck with your current and future projects :)

A fairly simple entry, the theme is well realized. I like the art and audio. I think the jump should REALLY be a bit higher, since it almost reaches the next platform but eventually doesn't. Like on my screenshot: You'd think the fox will land on this very platform, but nope, it falls down below it.

Hehe fox with a jetpack. I agree with @suchista on the jump height / missing platforms that the fox was clearly over. A few more things to interact with that grant you more progress or increase the challenge would be welcomed in a game like this.

Really enjoyed the calming music, smooth animations, and fun take on the infinite platformer. I got a kick out of jetpack fox which game me some real StarFox vibes. Issues other's have mentioned: Like @trev3lyan, had some issues where my fox would jump up when landing slightly below the platform and, like @suchista and @autogibbon, there were many times the fox appeared to make it to a platform yet fell through. Overall, I had a good time with this game in spite of the faults which you just have to learn around.

The link to play on gamejolt.net didn't work for me, but downloading the game worked just fine.

At the start you could jump two platforms at a time which was satisfying because it was a bit risky to predict where the second one offscreen would be, but after using a jetpack your jump is just barely short of being able to go two platforms higher, and you fall right through the second one (as mentioned by @suchista and @autogibbon). It's so tantalizingly close.

I also paused the game for a minute or two and the music cycled, when I unpaused the game was mostly frozen and all I could do was point the fox left or right.

Simple but fairly effective. Does the jump height decline over time? Early on it felt like I was consistently jumping two platforms at a time, but after a little bit I started to just barely miss the second platform up.

Something that might give the game a little more depth would be making the fire move independently from the camera, so there’s more of a push and pull as the player moves up or makes mistakes.

Simple game well made. Good job, extra credits for automatically logging and showing highscores.

Few thoughts though:
* It was unexpected for that the fox can go out of screen bounds and then drop down. Accidentally dropped out of screen a few times;
* Jumps feel rather unreliable. Yes, it always reached at least one platform high. But usually the fox can second platform just right. Sometimes after reaching second high platform, it goes down through it, double jumps right under the platform, and goes back on top. Sometimes it doesn't register 2nd jump, and you just fall down.
* Sometimes the fox tries to double jump from under falling-off (1 jump) platforms, of course not being able to make the second jump, because the platform has already fallen off;
* While double jump is not bad in itself, it's just that currently it feels very unreliable;
* Had a few runs, where right at the start received 2-3 berries for 100 points, and then rocket booster, collecting more berries on the way. That is like an hour of careful jumping;
* Loved fox animations;
* Rocket booster on a fox is very cool;
* Trampolines was also a fun boost;
* Regarding impeding fire, I feel it would make sense, that the fire should progress by itself slowly. Otherwise the fox can just jump on the same platform for several hours;
* There could be slippery surfaces;

Reminded me of childhood and icy towers :smile:
