I really had a fun time playing this! The controls were a bit hard getting used to and hard to get around and collect the materials before they despawned, so was a little slowpaced since I couldn't really build anything but turrets. But definitely my favourite game out of the ones I've tried so far!

Even as a dinosaur... an air raid siren is horrifying. Loved the DinoPark-esque pixel art

I enjoyed the theme. The air siren was a nice touch as well, it stressed me out knowing that the end was near. Nice work!

Really liked this interpretation of the theme and the visual style! Took me a second to learn the controls, but was very enjoyable when I did.

Cute little tower difference against stuff from above! An interesting perspective.

Cool game! Wish it progressed a little faster so I could try out more stuff.

It took me a few tries to figure out the controls and how to play, and once I did the controls were a little janky, and thought overall gameplay was a little slow-paced, but overall a solid effort. I particularly enjoyed the theme and appreciated the lo-res art & music to match.

I'm going to quit while I'm ahead haha. If I was smart I would design my base in lines and have a set path to walk. This is more a logistics game than a tower defense in some ways. In that sense, it's actually quite unique and innovative. Other than that, it's a decent tower defense game. Capturess my inner TD desires well.

Thanks for a fun entry!

Actually surpassingly enjoyable! Art was very nice and fitting to the game theme! Only complaint was the pacing. Beginning seemed very slow and collecting resources was rough, but then it picked up really quick after a while and All i was doing was running around getting resources and hoping to get the right ones. Maybe having wood spawn else where in the world might help this? Either way, still a great game!

I finally, truly understand what it was like to be a dinosaur.

Great game! Loved the building/collecting. Lots of space for more/new stuff! Would have liked to know where some of the other resources came from, but I figured it out eventually =). Also, some indicator of what/how many of each resource you're missing to build new turrets could be nice. But fun game overall, really enjoyed it!

Great game concept. It was pretty fun once you got into it. I agree with Jamjamem that the controls are a little hard to get used to. Also the material collection in the game is kind of difficult for the player due to the movement and how the turrets block your way sometimes and that the materials despawn after a while. I think more materials dropping would improve the gameplay as well as an easier movement script. Overall, great game though.

Scored 511 !

The twist on the tower defense genre is nice and the balance of the game with its ressources is quite good.

The pixel art is OK but I would advise you to stick with a set color pallet for all of your sprites next time.

The soud effects are getting ... painful after some time :grimacing:

Overall, a nice submission, gratz !

I enjoyed this! Got overconfident with the crazy fast distribution of rocks and tried to save up for something bigger which meant my doom.

This was a great entry! I had a lot of fun scavenging for enough resources for the rocket (I was sooo close!). The only difficulty I had were the colliders of the guns, I kinda blocked my way a lot.

Congrats on a great jam game!

I love the idea of how this game was concieved. Fun and simple with cute graphics, certainly could be something really fun if the progression system was built on.

The dinosaur theme was such a cool idea. I think it works well, almost comically, with the placing of turrets to prevent asteroids from crashing. The turrets themselves acted like mini-checkpoints, things to aim towards that prevented it from getting stale. The turrets themselves were variant (although, I think I would've liked some graphical variance as well to set them apart). A little ways in, I realised I had boxed myself out of a lot of resources, which was so awesome because I realised the placement needed more thought than I had been putting in it.

Needs some polish in places, but overall a really well-made entry. Enjoyed playing it!

@exevirus Nice! The difficulty definitely ramps up a lot after 500, but honestly we didn't expect many people to get past that, that's awesome!

@olivier-millochau Thanks for the feedback! For the sound effects I completely agree with you. We didn't have a lot of time to playtest the late-game, but looking back I'd definitely make it at least quieter

I really liked the take on the theme, making dinosaurs prevent the inevitable asteroid collision!

fun tower defense, enjoyed the auto-mining aspect of the game too

Fun and very charming game! It took me a couple tries to get it, but once I learned how it worked I had a blast. This game is deeper than it first appears, there is quite a lot of strategy to managing your defense. I love how crazy and chaotic it gets in the late game. I really like games where I have to run around performing tasks and simultaneously think carefully about the overall strategy of what I'm doing. *Dino Defense* scratches that itch wonderfully.

I agree with the others that the controls are somewhat unintuitive and difficult to get used to. I'm surprised nobody mentioned this specifically, but my primary gripe is the inability to move diagonally. If I could make one change to this game, it would be to add diagonal movement. I also found myself getting annoyed by the small camera size. I think the game would be better if you could see the whole play area simultaneously, with a fixed camera.

The visual art, music and sound are all lovely. Great interpretation of the theme as well. I've really enjoyed my time with *Dino Defense*; thank you for making this game!

This is very very fun and the dinosaur theme suits it so well. I also like how simple yet beautiful the dino is himself.

Good use of the theme! The controls are a bit clunk but other than that good job!

Thanks for the feedback, there was definitely a bit of a trade-off for the movement. We didn't have time to add in all eight direction animations so we had to choose between awkward controls or an awkward diagonal animation, but given more time we'd've definitely added that!

Hello, I enjoyed my time with this one. The gameplay, while nothing exciting or innovative, works well and is decently balanced in terms of difficulty. The artstyle is cute, and the walk cycle on the dinosaur is nicely done. The music, while nothing standout, does well at setting the mood and tone of the gameplay. I did initially get confused because I thought 'wood' was 'bronze', since I thought everything was going to be a metal or rock of some sort, but I quickly figured out what it actually was. I do wish for better controls, though I didn't have too many issues with it. Overall, good job.
