Workplace Accidents by tendencydriven

You thought the afterlife was an eternity of rest? Get back to work!
Worker death won't prevent itself. Unless we somehow got fridges that don't cause workers to drop dead after a few uses and require a ghost to constantly fix, but now you're being unreasonable!
How to play
- Move with WASD or Arrow Keys
- Space to fix broken equipment before your workers die!
- Side note: If WASD doesn't work, try unplugging your controller :)

Who are we?
We're a small group of software developers and artists from Cardiff, UK. This isn't the first time we've attempted a game jam, but it is the first time we've submitted an entry! Thanks for taking the time to play, and we hope you have fun!
How it's made
We made this entirely from scratch, using Unity as our engine, Aesprite for our artwork, SFXR, Ableton and our voices for sound.

A few things though:
- I had to guess the controls, not sure if there was a button for them in the menu though since part of the window was cut off in ultrawide aspect ratio and there was no way to change the resolution of the game. Nonetheless the tutorial was nice and simple
- The level is quite large and the difficulty starts to ramp up quite quickly
The game is simple but i got overwhelmed by accidents very quickly (high score only 4700). Also i think there are some objects that brake but cant be repaired (bug report).
I think gameplay could be improved upon as it gets repetitive fast. Some sort of second objective may be cool to mix things up.
Good job on the audio balance and the voices btw. I hope we see you around for the next LDs as well!
Great work!
Also the controls werent working until i unplugged my gamepad
Art looks expert and the game runs smoothly!
Absolutely loved the ghost character (adorably looks damn tired of saving the workers!)
The mechanic of the game and has real replay value; desperately trying to get a higher score.
Music is very fitting for the pixel art style.
Did find that the keyboard controls didn't work at first because I had a gamepad plugged in (the gamepad stick did work for movement but I couldn't figure out if any of the buttons were mapping to the repair action and seemed to block the spacebar from the keyboard) - but worked fine once I'd unplugged it, and that's just a minor technical thing, nothing against the game itself!
Nicely done, enjoyed my time playing this!
At first no controls at all were working for me, then I noticed my controller was plugged in.
For feedback, I can't say anything really as the game was pretty well done. Only suggestion would be on your next LD jam try and do a webGL build. It loads quicker and people rating prefer them and you get more ratings.
Well done team!
The play area is really huge though, but I'm glad there's an arrow to help. The controls on the ghost is really smooth and feels nice to move around. I wonder why some workers have red/blue around their eyes?
