The Assessment by Okamit

 Kneel before the Supreme Leader of the Galactic Federation!
It has come to our attention that you are beyond ungrateful for the life you have been given on this puny planet. On this day, you stand trial for the unforgivable crimes you have committed.
But ah, you are in luck, for the gods of graciousness have granted you a boon! We shall forgive your atrocious sins, if... you succeed in completing these simple tasks!
:earth_africa: About
The Assessment is a collection of eight quick and hectic minigames inspired by the WarioWare series of games. Complete the tasks the aliens have given you to hold back their plans to destroy the earth. Crack the safe, scramble the eggs, sweep the mines, and remember to stay hydrated!

Reminded me a lot of Wario Ware.
The transition between minigames could be way faster, as the sequencing took always equally long as playing a game, aside from that great job throughout.
Wish it was more challenging though
I am impressed with how polished it feels. The WarioWare developers would be proud.
Congratulations!
Thanks for the feedback! And thanks to all others as well!
Great entry!
I really liked how they eventually got... quite hard. The game felt very well polished, and the mini games were self-explanatory (For some of them after a couple of attempts) Also the audio felt just right - All in all a very polished game - Nice job.
Thanks for sharing your game :-)
It's very polished and looks very professional. Nothing like It was done in 72 hours (That's a compliment not distrust :)
I love the art and the music.
The game would work great on mobile. There's a lot you have to do with a mouse and would work great on a touchscreen
First game I think I'm going to download and save for later, would I like voices for the dialogue at the beginning but after the intro, seeing how much content there is... chefs kiss 5/5 all day everyday! Awesome job, great entry!
@shawn-beck Thank you for the suggestion, we will polish the game a bit after the jam! And thank you, It was fun drawing high res art as a change from pixel art, a whole different workflow!
@andrground Comparing it with Broken Age is a great compliment, thank you!
Thank you all for the great feedback!
Took a few goes to understand the safe one.
Nice collection of different minigames.
Keep it FRESH!
We went for our rover idea instead tho.
Really cool intro, nice sound effects and playful graphics!
Loved the quick mini game setup.
Well done! :D
Congratulations guys for this amazing Wario Ware type of game, the mini games are so fun to play :D
Very nice entry!
I played your game on my stream today and found it cute and engaging. Quickly changing games I didn't have time to get good at kept me on my toes. I was just praying not sushi, not sushi. At some point theme went to the side for a while, but I didn't mind. Enjoyed the humour and sound effects together with unique visuals. Laster on I spotted Fresh Lady in the Art Gallery game. Cool find :)
Also I love how you made the game on itch.io page seamlessly merge with the store page background image.
Overall great job and keep it Fresh! :rocket:
@jamieok Thank you so much!
@ocwal The rover game was so cute, I'm glad you went with that!
@kaminos Yeah, making this type of game with only educational minigames would actually be a great idea as well!
@yogurtthehorse Well, if we need to challenge these particular aliens for real, we are probably doomed no matter who gets to defend the earth!
@sequoiadolce Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it so much!
@pat-cleaver Thank you, that means a lot!
@mmisspelling Stay FRESH!
@gabriel-dias-oliveira-de-almeida @haayaargh Hopefully we can redeem the sushi minigame in the post-jam version!
@forgin-bits Yeah loved your game as well! Fun to see fellow "wario ware"-makers this jam!
Thank you all for the amazing feedback!
Good luck during the ratings and have fun!
Felt really really polished. Couldn't figure out how to feed the guy sushi or how to hydrate the person, but this entry was amazing!
The audio really turned this from a game into an experience. Loved the into cutscene as well. Was funny, cute and fun. Well done!
Now, the most important thing: your audio. Holy crap this was fantastic. Seriously felt like I was watching a movie at times. This was fantastic, and I congratulate you for your game!
@mateu Wow thanks for the amaizing feedback! So glad to hear it  We were going to have an ending but didn't make it in time, so for now it's endless. Stay tuned for the post-jam version!
As a kid I often played a flash game that felt similar (minigames and intense music/animation between them) But your game just surpassed it in every single way! Visals and audio is way better and every minigame is better than the best I remember from the flash game (well except one minigame... :sushi: :eyes:)
Some thoughts on minigames:
* :bomb: The undetermined fields could be a bit easier to spot, but cool game
* :sushi: Hated it :joy: killed to many of my runs
* :bank: Loved that you put the blackout music in there
* :four: Would have loved to see if the tasks would get absolutely ridiculous at some point, but :sushi: killed be first
My favorite game so far of this jam!
Silly fun, excellent polish. I particularly love the intersection of the musical sting and TV popup animation with really excellent timing introducing each minigame. Just exactly right.
"That's not how safes work" - a couple of the minigames I had a little trouble figuring out what I was being asked to do.
"Put it in the square hole" - everything should go in the square hole as an easter egg
I enjoyed the nod to Scrambl'd.
Nice hommaage to wario ware and very good execution. Great job, I don't think this could have been done any better
Strengths:
- Top notch visuals and audio
- Incredibly polished mini-games
- Good balance ; I felt like I was given the opportunity to enjoy your game without struggling too much, and the time allocated to the games was short enough to keep me on the edge of my seat.
Possible improvements:
- The text boxes at the start are a tad slow
Fantastic entry!
I love the minigame games (are they called this way?) and this is a very good example! Keep up the good work! :v:
Oh, and as I believe I've seen others mention, I really like how the background of the web game blends in with the page. It made the game page feel really nice!
I felt a little stupid with the safe, so it's good I'm no locksmith.

(Also, the Bo- doesn't put people on trial, come on that's Q)
I especially want to highlight the number of game mechanics, it's cool! And they are all of varying difficulty.
Great project, you guys are great!
Btw combining itch page background with the game's background was a nice touch
Only some slight improvements since it's already overall a great job:
◾ Intro is a bit slow because of the text speed.
◾ Minesweeper minigame visibility on the interactable goals can be more pronounced, had a bit of trouble on this minigame the first few times.
◾ The sushi minigame was unclear at the fail condition with the feedback. All I figured out after a few failures is to just keep it steady but unsure if that was more focused on the speed or movement of the hand.
for being on theme, i guess it's impossible to save the earth, the games just keep on coming?
and while i get that forcing humans to play warriowares for no good reason is the point, i think the premise of "being ungrateful" and "horrible sins" feels like its trying too hard to come up with a reason.
i think it would be more believable if the aliens were more upfront about it, like "hello lowly humans, we're bored so we're gonna force you to play these games or we'll destroy your planet."
wonderful job with the art, animation, and sound effects! i love the old school orchestral sci-fi feel! really impressive polish!
feedbacks:
* intro text should be 2x as fast, or have a button to skip individual dialogues instead of the whole thing.
* i was never able to pass the safe. it's clockwise, counterclockwise past and then to, then clockwise again right? i found it incredibly difficult to move to the right number (playing in a track pad). most frustrated by this one.
* minesweeper - difficult to see where to click, and difficult over all!
* difficulty scaling on the egg scramble is rough, after the first one, i had eggs already falling as soon as the game began, and spawning so far apart it feels impossible to catch them both.
Quality game anyway! Solid, didn't find bugs, easy to learn, polished.
this game is fuckin perfect lol
shut up and take my money ^^#
no clue how you pulled that off in 72h ngl
incredibly impressive
works great for a jam
works great to have fun for 10 mins or more
works great for our format!
... about that :P

The soundtrack was on point, it felt like a movie. Theme was on point as well. All around, the experience was really well-rounded and fit the theme more than most entries I've tried.
Good job!
I just wish I understood the minesweeper one, it still makes no sense to me lol
Great job!
As for the game itself, while the idea is pretty much Wario Ware (even down to the general tone and art style of the games), you guys executed this exceptionally well! It's clear that y'all know what you're doing when it comes to making games, and you know how to scope well enough to add that extra bit of polish that really makes an entry stand out. Nice job!
Well done!
Nice game reminiscent of dumb ways to die. Minesweeper is relatively too hardcore and sushi difficult to understand. Great work overall, especially on sound design
We also have the final-final version of Blackout realeasing soon-ish!
Sometimes I didn't understand the mini-games on the first try, but after one time you know them and could play again
Also smooth and polished animations and transitions
