Wow i actually won! May sound evil but getting cooked anyway would be better with this theme xD

I think the first part is really good with the rythm and the knives. Its a challenge but not unfair or way to hard. But the bossfight came a bit quick - would have loved one or two more stages beforehand.

And i was not a big fan of the bossfight. It takes very long but you use the same maneuver over and over again so its a bit boring.

BUT the art is great - even the credits (especially the credits) are gorgeous and the music was very good too!

@willoxs Thanks for the review! The rhythm game was actually a big challenge for us to implement so we mainly focused on that. The second phase... we just wanted people to be able to get their frustration from the first phase out by hitting that damn cleaver :)
About the art: you are absolutely right. We were lucky enough to meet three greatly talented artists, each in his domain (2D, 3D, music). And it was so great making that game with them.

Realy hard game when the knife come in wave I always hit even if I'm behind a safe one. Otherwise this is a good entry for the theme and technics and graphics are polish. But sometime I din't find the knife tempo in the music, maybe I have a bad rythm myself but sometime it seem really weird to keep it ^^^. Good job, keep coding !

@arktas Thank you for playing and leaving a review ! I'm aware of a synchronization issue with the music in the web version of the game. The game is short so we wanted some challenge for the player and increased the difficulty quite a bit :)

I thought it was a great game xD, the art and style is excellent, and that the gameplay goes to the rhythm of the music seems to me the best decision. In the web version it lagged a lot and it was very difficult for me to play it, maybe it's a performance issue of my pc or my internet. However I downloaded it and I was able to play it better, great job!!!

I recorded myself playing, message me on the Jam’s discord @ Dark Peace and I’ll send it to you. I have no idea how you're supposed to dodge anything, the knifes are sync to the music but there doesn't seem to be any coherent pattern or way to guess where to go to be safe. Plus the hitboxe isn't very clear, I'm always hit when I think I'm safe and the 3D doesn't make it more obvious with the perspective. I couldn't pass stage 1. I think the game wouldn't been 3 times better with 2D pixel arts than 3D, even tho your graphics are sick.

Very nice graphics. Mushroom is very cute.
First Part: Many rhythm games use a grid system where you can jump with each beat. Maybe something like that would help. Because at the moment I'm often getting hit by the knives although I thought I was safe and the movement didn't feel very rhythmic.
Also I mostly stayed at the same position. There was no reason for me to move much.

Good job on the game anyway! Keep it up :)

Fun & Hard game, was hard to tell where things were gonna land and to see the position of my character at the same time!

Really fun game, the graphics are stunning and the music is nice. It is hard tho, and I think that more feedbacks would help to get the rythm and anticipates the movement. For exemple, all the knives are "rocking" back and forth, even when not going to go down, having them static would help us notice the one that are about to cut. Differents colors for the knives would also help with differenciating them etc.

Nice! Really liked the artstyle and the music :) Could use some more hit-feedback when the fight begins, often I was not sure when / how I can damage the opponent. In the first part I was able to just navigate between two knifes, the pattern could be more varying. Overall I enjoyed that rhythmic game. It could use a quit button in the end also, I was not sure what to do here or if there is anything coming still. Also very minor in the start screen when you hover over the "buttons" they should be highlighted but instead they get darker, just invert the effect I would say :) Also please give the zip file a better name so that it's easy to know what it is on the harddrive once downloaded.

Nice graphics and an innovative concept. I found it a bit easy to just stay near the edge at the end and walk back and forth between the last two blades. But anyway, I could definitely see this concept being expanded into a full game. I took a screenshot of my win, but it didn't save. Sigh... windows.

Nice game! Loved the graphics, and the gameplay was pretty fun. The audio was also really good as well. I feel like some more impact when getting hit by the hand's blade or hitting the hand with my blade would have been nice (like an animation or something) and I ran into an error where I could still kill the hand and win the game despite having died and gotten the game over overlay, but overall I liked the game. Well done!

Wow! Great work from everyone on this team! Its rare to see a really polished 3D game from LD, I think you guys did a great job with nice animations and well-textured models. I think the concept was really cute and funny, and was surprised to see you did a rhythm game! I only played a little while, since the game did not seem to scale properly and a lot was cut off (even in full screen). What I did play however was cool and I enjoyed the music!

Really nice job!

Hey there! I have seen that you played and rated my game. So it is my turn
I really like the usage of the music to let the knifes drop! The graphics and animations are really fluid and well. The selected soundtrack is very cool!

What i miss is more balance. Sometimes there is just no chance to avoid the falling knives if they are falling in an alternating pattern. At least to me, my eyes were only on the top of the screen and so i missed that a knife was still on the ground. You can maybe highlight the ground a bit where the knifes went down, to give the player a subtil hint. Also i would change it that the player can't run into knifes that are on the ground. Some particle effects and sound effects as the knifes are going down would fit perfectly

Another thing that could incentivise the player to move more and not to hide just under 2-3 knifes, like me , would be to add some health pickups or some other perks like speed.

I thought that jumping would help getting out of tight situations but i jump right into the knifes .

In the end it is a very cool entry to build on. The mix of rhythm game and stressful kinda jump n run is sweet!

Nice game! Really love the concept and it fits the theme very well. I haven't seen a game yet with this concept!

What I would change:
- Maybe instead of knifes being a trigger, giving them a rigidbody (lots of the time, knifes were already down but I could run into them and take damage).
- Only make the bottom part of the knife make damage.

Overall, really love the game. Thanks for making it !(also, nice graphics).

Good game! I would suggest that with each hit, a piece of the character was separated

Resolution scaling is a bit wonky and I think the knife collision is a bit too big, so its hard to squeeze between 2 knives (with one in the middle) unless you do it pixel-perfect it seems. But really fun game, amazing art, music and UI!

Very cool graphisms, animations and music !
I had a bit of an issue with the collisions that were not corresponding to the visuals : sometimes I felt like I was getting hit while the knife was not really touching me. Same for the boss, I didn't know why sometimes I was dealing damages and sometimes I wasn't.
Cool entry overall :)

Love it. Great syncing of the blades to the music, the battle was a little too hard to land a hit for the size of the hand's health bar but overall a really nice entry. I tried my hand at a rhythm game for this jam if you fancy checking it out.

Very cool game overall! The music is awesome!! The 3D art style is really cool too, but I kinda wish you had made the entire game in the 2D art style you used for the menus and credits. Those 2D mushroom characters are soo cool!!!
I had a bit of an issue with the hitboxes for the knives (they seemed a little unforgiving), but managed to beat the game in the end. Either way great entry overall!

very lovely art! it looks amazing. only thing i would say is as mentioned above maybe knife collisions can be adjusted. since it also triggered even after knives touched the ground dodging inbetween 2 knives was pretty difficult. but the gameplay was fun and very innovative!

![mushroom.jpg](///raw/b45/5/z/4e4e1.jpg)

yeahhh!!! 8-)

A cool & fun little game!

Love the premise and the graphics are great and clean, the mushroom is very cute yet badass 8-)

(amazed by all the assets you guys came up with, this looks so polished and the colours/lighting post processing looks so nice and I LOVE the volumetric light. how did you guys do that? Did you buy an asset from the store?)

The music was a straight up banger! I loved this kinda geometry dash concept (while being different from geometry dash, but I mean as in you having to remember/learn the pattern and it fitting to the music!)

I loved the bossfight and the credits, the art definitely is amazing :)

The beginning was kind of hard for me, so I had my boyfriend take over after a few tries, haha!

Probably no time during the jam, but if you continue to work on this, it would be nice if you had more feedback as in indicating where the knife will come down, maybe a sign on the floor where it will hit next (or like the shadow growing taler or something, like in that one pokemon stadium minigame if you're familiar?) and in general more player feedback than in the jam version would be nice for every entry, right? ;D

Awesome game! Congrats guys :)
