Great work. Nice graphics. Only a bit slow.
The player just moves so slowly, though! It tries my patience.
I can see where you were going with the combat, but unfortunately the combat mechanics seem a bit all over the place, which makes the combat feel unresponsive. Some audio or visual feedback upon taking and delivering damage would probably go a long way in improving the feel of it.
Blends Dark Souls and maybe some Prince of Persia. Unfortunately, the combat felt really stale compared to Souls - the enemies just rapidly loop an attack, and blocking/dodging isn't really a thing, so it just feels like a DPS war...
The exploration part is fantastic, the combat didn't really work out for me.
By the way, some of the games we're seeing on this Ludum Dare are absolutely incredible! We are so proud!
But the combat are all over the place. I died fighting the first enemy trying to click fast the attack button. And the roll didn't work...Also the animations are super slow where the game needs to be fast as the player's reactions. So I couldn't explore more of the game. I only guess there are puzzles in the game.
Overall, the game passes. But it needs fixes.
I didn't really feel like a monster, I felt quite noble, but the game is good.
But. The game itself. Fun, and looks pretty ambitious for a game jam.
The animations could be sped up a couple times though, right now the movements and attacks feel reeeaaaally slow. A flash or a blink when we get hit and when we hit an enemy would be a nice addition as well, just so we get a better feel of what is happening.
Good job anyway, and good luck on that post-jam version!
Unstable is a very gentle word - I barely loaded it and my chrome stuck my entire computer and then crashed after about a minute.
Tried the web version - great mood but controls were awful, I mean I would click and he would attack like an hour later while the dude kills me. This was awful.
I can barely attack twice before I die!
I'm sure it's a bug but for a jam I'd say this isn't good.
The art and ambience was great though.
