Silent Syphon by daviwil

[raw]
made by daviwil for Ludum Dare 50 (COMPO)

Overview

You are piloting a ship flying through enemy territory and your capacitors can no longer store energy. You must survive as long as you can to have any hope of escape.

To keep your ship running for longer, siphon energy from enemy ships, but be aware that movement and firing your weapon will cause energy to deplete faster!

Written With Mesche

The interesting thing about this game is that I wrote it with my own programming language Mesche, a Scheme-derived language written in C. I started writing the language in late February so I'm pretty happy with how well it worked for this game!

I also used my own rendering and game engine library called Substratic Engine which I've been working on since January.

How to Play

Read a lot more details and learn how to download and run the game on Linux at the GitHub repository:

I will be working on a Windows port during the remaining time of voting, please let me know in the comments if you are interested!

Developed Live on Stream

I developed this whole game over the 2 days of the Compo while streaming on YouTube and Twitch, check out the playlist of recordings here if you're interested!

Cool concept. The controls were a bit confusing at first, but after getting the hand of it, its pretty fun :)
