Super cool synth pad music, great concept, fun and a bit meditative
I would have loved to see an in game tutorial because I as quite confused until went and read the itch.io page.
I'm also a bit confused on the camera starting to move really late, once the slime is already almost at the top of the screen. Maybe it was a bug, but if it wasn't I would make it start move a lot earlier.
Other then that, really fun and simple in nature. Love it!
The art is simple yet really aesthetically pleasing. The atmosphere is completed with the very nice synthy pads, and 8-bit SFX. The gameplay has good replayability due to the random spawns of other slimes.
The only complaint I really have is that the AI for the people you save is kind of bad...there should be some way to actually direct them, or they should be smarter and actually follow you instead of literally climbing down a 4-unit ladder into the slime after building a house.
Really awesome game dude!
Was confused on the first couple of plays, but eventually was building many scaffolds and buildings lol

I love the minimalist yet polished graphics. The soundrack really reinforces that nice atmosphere.
great game!
The gameplay was a bit unclear for me at first. I tried building houses or scaffolding on the ground level, but it would not let me. After experimenting a bit I found out I had to press one layer above the ground level, but by that time the slime had already caught up to me. This was all fine the second playthrough, but the introduction could have been smoother. A small idea for this is to have the slime start rising once the player puts down their first thing, so that they have a bit of time to try things out. Please ignore this if you dont like it though :)
Otherwise the gameplay was very well polished, with nice sound effects and screenshakes whenever you build something. Tactics wise I was not sure why I should not just build straight up with scaffolding until I almost ran out, and then put a house at the top?
Anyway, amazingly well done! Really impressive for only 48 hours! :D
Overall I'd say the difficulty was balanced pretty well, and it had decent depth to its design.
Congrats on a solid entry!
Second game I figured out slightly more, though still died very quickly, my people mostly just liked running down ladders into the slime it seemed...
Third game went slightly better, got a score of 135 meters, and started having some fun.
Maybe it should start with a lot more time to figure out what's going on (slime just doesn't move until you've built up past a height of 5 or something?) so one can learn the controls / mechanics a bit, I think that would have removed most of the initial frustration. Was fun when I got into it though!
I really like the aesthetic, and audio was good!
my best was 400m!
Lovely, clean pixelart graphics. Atmospheric music and sounds, clean, engaging and simple to understand mechanics, I've enjoyed this entry a lot.
At first I thought that the people counter was the "house" counter and one time I placed the house in an inaccesible place and I thought (wrongly) that I've locked myself out - turns out that it was active "people" counter.
Sometimes the guys would just suicide in the slime even if they had an escape path - not sure how to prevent that. I guess I would need to move them faster by giving them build orders - would be cool if they had more self-preserving insticts!
Very impressive for 48h - a solid compo entry! :v:
