Great! I missed this history lesson :') Lost once won once, the court would be 100x better if the letters were each coloured differently, cos after a certain speed my eyes nearly burst trying to read the letter lol.

Thanks @mook. Nice suggestion, Yeah the speed is intended to increase as you keep getting more voters to make it harder, it's supposed to encourage players to go back and forth between voting and getting more voters (the speed will slow down over time, so it's better to vote for awhile when it's too fast to get more voters!)

This game has a weird balance. The voting section is trivially easy, but the rhythm game section is impossible! Different colors would be helpful, but mainly I was just surprised to learn how hard it is to develop an association between the letters and the different keys I had to press. One of my favorite things about Ludum Dare, though, is getting to play strange and highly esoteric games like this.

Win only one seat
To hard to push keys to get voters :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks @quinn-patrick, yeah I initially had it where aiming for voting was more physics based but it was frustrating losing all your voters quickly. Noted on the keys :( sorry for the frustration, color based would be easier, but i'd have to play with the balance to not make it too easy ;)

Thanks @fifut, another 'vote' for difficult key pressing

A really creative interpretation of the theme! Like some of the other players, I found the rhythm game section quite tricky ^_^

I won! It took two tries, but was fairly trivial once I figured court out. I liked the humor in the game.

Thanks for uploading!

Give me some south-park esque vibes to the graphics. The court was kind of disorienting and I found that spamming WASD at the same time when the were at the judge was a very effective strategy since I couldn't process them that quickly. The sounds were a bit jarring, but I get the limitation since it was a jam

@ollie-d ah spamming probably does work well, nice find!

@purpledartfrog glad you enjoyed, thanks for playing :)

@temposparkz ah i ran into that a couple of times but i think it fixes it when you go back and forth to the voting hall / courthouse.

@darandin yeah the balance isn't great but i wanted to make sure it at least wasn't impossible for the jam. Thanks so much for playing!

Fun game, throwing potatoes everywhere!

I was confused in the court at first, I was spamming the right keys but I was not waiting for them to be over the bag head.

wow, well that was an original take! couldn't figure out what was going on for a minute and found the courtroom piece a little unclear at first, but once I knew what I was doing it was pretty fun. Not the most thrilling game, but certainly unique and interesting and some cool thinking went it. Great job.

The court portion was a little tough, I agree with the color coding idea. It's definitely a unique game that would benefit from some balancing. Overall I had fun!

A little weird, but also really funny well. Well done.

That was a bit tought, but fun. A bigger hitbox for the speed-type-section would have been better, i was always a few pixels too late :/

Good job :)

It's a nice innovative game, I found some of the mini games to be quite frustrating. For example, in the court, the moment you grab a voter, the next one gets sent without any delay in between; pressing the wrong key immediately deletes that voter and sends in the next one as opposed to completing it's round (which is how the player expects it to work). I also thought the graphics could've been just a bit better (despite it being a compo game). That said, despite it's many flaws, I had fun trying to get to Day 2. Good job!

Cool interpretation of theme! Nice style and design, but gameplay-wise kinda boring and easy. Fun game anyway.
