It was very unclear what it was that I was doing that was causing the plant to be healthy or die, so very true to life.

I kept going back to chop the plant back to health anyway so quite satisfying to play.

I enjoyed playing this game. The pairing of the chill gameplay with the relaxing sound effects and music works really well and creates a soothing atmosphere as you watch your plant grow and inevitably... die.

The graphics are nice and simple.

What I liked the most was the animation when you throw away the plant :)

Great job

The audio is relaxing.

I like it! The game's really chill which is complimented by the music. I also really like the balancing act that you got going on. Also, it's such a small thing but starting the game by clicking on the watering can instead of a regular looking start button just feels nice. Great job!

I appreciate how this game fits well with the theme and also manages to be super calming. Nice job on the graphics, it was super helpful how you were able to rotate the pot to get at leaves from different angles.

Somehow I misread the directions as saying "water" instead of "cut," so I was really confused when it wouldn't let me give more water to my struggling plant, then EXTRA confused when I accidentally lopped a huge branch off of it without realizing I could even do that. So that was pretty funny. Anyway, I like the chill vibes this game has, and the occasional leaves flying around in the background.

Lovely little game! After cutting a few times, I enjoyed just watching it grow instead - love the way the plant grows and changes by itself.

nice peaceful game, it would be better to add some scorepints or time how long you last. Main idea is 100% theme match, thats very cool. But really a little sad after playing :\

The growth mechanic is really nicely done, and the slashing gestures are fun to perform

Hey badcop_! Thank you for this calming experience! I designed this plant by my imagination and feel now like a new person

Nice! Very calming, sound design is very well done I thought. I loved the effect of the leaves blowing in the wind especially! Having something happen at the end would complete the experience I think, maybe having a timelapse of the plant, or a picture of it?

What a cool chill game with a very zen feeling to it. I kinda wish the plant could not die, but Obviously that's the point. Really well done!

Just fantastic. I have criticisms, but addressing almost any of them would take the game further from the theme.
The only real gameplay issue is that the targeting of your cuts is not always clear - it'd be nice to have a highlight on the branch that you're cutting.

Badcop,

I liked the colors and vibes of the game, the foliage was well done too. I also liked the peaceful music/birds in the background, it helped create a nice sense of atmosphere.

I was a bit confused on which branches to cut. Maybe some type of UI would help. Also the water was not coming out directly from the watering can but I know you already know that/maybe looking into fixing that with resolution.

The Game concept was a good one that fit with the theme nicely. Great work :D

It's a nice "watch a plant grow" simulator, not sure what your intentions were with this but what you've got here works well, looks well and plays well, great entry ^^

Very peaceful, and relaxing. I only wish I could turn the plant around to better see what i'm cutting.

@owca You can. Click and drag on the pot and it'll rotate the plant.

I love how relaxing it is to watch the plant grow. Is there a trick to making it last longer? I tried timing my cuts, and cutting away dead parts, but I couldn't tell if I was actually making it last longer. Really cool compo entry :) nice work! I love games with growing stuff, and the audio was really nice too.

Yay! Another plant-based game!
I had no idea what I was doing, but really liked trying to keep the plant alive for as long as possible while also trimming it to be beautiful.
I'm unsure if I did well or not, but I suppose that's very true to life.

So relaxing! I love the whole aesthetic, the 3d modelling was really well done. The music combined with the background ambience worked super good. I heard how hard it was for you to record the birds for the game, it was well worth it I say! I like how there's no way to "win" and the plant always dies, it is kind of relaxing! I felt like I did quite a good job with my plants, which felt nice. The pot being thrown out without any regard, after tending to the plant in it just seconds before was also super humorous to me.

Lovely experience!

Super cute little game! I wanted a day counter to see how well I was doing, but it kinda felt like I was trimmin a little bonsai and that was nice. Very good job!

Calming and zen <3 I wasn't sure what was killing some of my branches, but it was still very satisfying. Love the growth

Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for feedback! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1448957656

I was almost as bad at this game as I am at real-life gardening!

Nice simple game, pleasant and soothing (until it dies at least).

Less on-theme, but I wonder if people would appreciate an alternate mode that's a little bit slower and doesn't have the inevitable death aspect so you can just chill to trimming a plant for a while.

Would be nice to have a timer or some sort of scoring system to tell if I've improved between runs. I like the procedural plant growing! I wanted to try doing something like this if the theme ended up being "garden". This game about accurately portrays my real life experience with plants. 😅

I really appreciate you explaining the game mechanics in greater depth while I was playing the game, I respect you deciding against the idea to score the game based on time survived.

Nice game. I find it quite relaxing. The graphic/animation for the slicing (red line) could be improved (e.g. to a kind of fruit ninja aesthetic). A indicator for the lifetime of you plant could be an interesting addition to. But for a compo entry a pretty nice result, well done!

My plant grew into a beautiful, colourful bush, vibing softly in the wind. But, inevitably, colourful leaves started turning into a grey mess, and...

`The plant died`

I love the visuals of dead leaves flying off in the wind :)

good idea! i believe this has great potential if you somehow build it into a plant caring and sculpting game where i can share the results with our friends and maybe not kill the plant but put it into stasis saying it is not growing anymore in this pot? otherwise had a solid playthrough.

- let the player know which leaves or branches will be diseas in advance (like to look for the leaves with holes in them). i would have never thought of that if you didnt tell me so.

Oh, I can tell you that I'm really bad at something like that, and I'm sure that even digital plants will die since I don't have green fingers. Well, after reading [this article](https://academicsongs.com/is-it-legal-to-grow-medical-marijuana/), I started to think that I can consider growing cannabis because it's not pretentious at all, and since taking care of it is not a problem, it might be a good idea for me.
