Really cute game! Absolutely loved the fact that the art is so adorable, yet my children just got uglier and uglier :sob: I also love the meteor it's so cute :blush: I found myself hopping back and forth between working and trying to date someone to mate with before the apocalypse and damnit if that's not the most realistic game I've played this Ludum Dare. Awesome work!!

This is such a great game!

The art style is awesome. The game play is unique and interesting with a good amount of challenge. The music is a real bop. The only thing that I feel was missing was some UI interaction sounds. At first, the text heavy tutorial scenes had me concerned but playing the game feels pretty intuitive, I think!

Also, it just seems so polished! Great work!

I love the artstyle, it is very disinct and it fits the game(-play) well! The tutorial is bit verbose, espacially because the gameplay comes fairly naturally. The gameplay itself is fun, but it would become reptitive quickly! All in all for the amount of time you guys had, the game is awesome und well polished!

Really fun and inventive game, cool audio, great and clever mechanics and dont even make me start about the graphics -> everything about this game is great :) I also really love the message of it. I only got to third generation though xD I played too much into lazy partners who fell in love too easily just by recieving expensive gifts and massages. Maybe thats why that family tree didnt last for very long, all of them were smart, but lazy in the end xD

The first time I launched the game, I had to mute and then unmute the game to have audio. I don't know if this is consistent tho.

Great game! It is very fun to play and it is a unique idea. If think that a fullscreen button would be great. As the page background is the same as the game background it is kind of confusing why clicks don't do anything.

About the game play, just as a comment: when I reached for the first time to 1 action left, and already had a match, I couldn't do anything more. I mean, the game play was blocked and I was stucked there: I couldn't continue doing actions nor trying to get more matches. So I started clicking around the screen and suddenly it let me play against the asteroid. Maybe I did something wrong, or maybe I just had to wait the perfect timming.

Anyway, apart from that is such a great idea!! And the experience is super cool!!

Woah! How was this made in only 72 hours!? So well done, love the fake tinder setup, the allusions to pushing problems away until its not yours anymore, the take on the theme is great. And the art style - superb. Coherent, consistent, and perfectly stylised.

@joedev The 72 hours were indeed a challenge for us. We finished last minute... Luckily, all three of us work as software developers / in IT for a living, so that helped a lot :P GameMaker Studio 2's built-in functions, easy shape generation in Photoshop and an enormous lack of sleep did the rest ^^

Really, really, really fun game! Loved it since the tutorial that was already fun. How my offspring inherited my characteristics is really fun and well done. Nice music, could play for quite a long time without getting annoyed and now it's stuck in my head, well done! Very nice art as a whole. Great work for the team!

really awesome game, I loved the idea. It was a bit hard to figure out in the beginning but when it clicked, it was a lot of fun and I could make some strategy. good job for the game!

Great idea and really well executed. I enjoyed all the little comments when I did my actions. This was a really differnt game and fit the theme well takign it in a slightly differnt direction. I loved the feel of it, the art and the vibrancy and all the small bits of polish. Also the colour pallete was a great choice!

Im not sure whether fixing the aid makes sence, cause the rate of breaking dowm seem to be same when i had spent lots of money maintain it. The art style is lovely and adorable! however I find out that the link of ability and appearance is totally ramdom, i have to date some ugly people for the ability. That's really sad hhhhh.

I looove the visuals and colors! The scene transitions are nice too. The dating/breeding mechanics are a neat twist, and the tutorial in the beginning was well presented and quick to get through. The action messages are hilarious too. During my third life I got a potential match to a full bar but it didn't count as a match even after trying more interactions, which led to me losing.

Overall I love the uniqueness and style of it, great job. I'd love to see more from you guys! :smile:

But the heartBar (and the fact that it APPEARS to be full although it's not entirely because a part of the bar is covered by the heart sprite) was definitely something that was not well polished and led to misunderstandings.

Fun, visually impressive with a lovely sense of humour!

The UI looks and feels great, but I would have loved some sound effects to just add that little bit. Maybe a different one for each of the action buttons!
The panel with the result I feel needs a little bit more polish, it feels a little bit small in relation to the rest and I found the font also was a little bit too small. Changing the backdrop depending on the action chosen can also make it feel slightly more important.

@nsadie Thank you for that constructive feedback! Audio feedback would indeed have been a good thing to add, we totally agree. We might do an update after the ratings are over and will think about that in our next games!

By "panel with the result" you mean the text area in the dating screen? We didn't really know where to put that, but you're right, it did turn out pretty small. We should probably have given it some more central place. The font size would probably not have been that much of an issue if we had known how to make the graphics and fonts sharper (which literally drove me crazy. I started searching forums like a maniac about why Gamemaker does this. Luckily I found out so that won't be a problem in future projects).

A changing backdrop is a nice idea! Next time we'll now how to use shaders and particles, so the graphics will hopefully be more responsive!
