You are a sky-pirate and have been tracked down by death himself to collect your soul, but you won't give up without a fight! But is it possible to kill death? (No). Dodge deaths attacks and stun him with your sword while jumping around on a swinging platform. I really liked the snappy feel and controls. Unfortunately, because the platform doesn't push you along as it moves, it's way too easy to fall off. For some reason its easy to get back on if you hold the up key when semi-close to the platform which snaps you back but looks odd.

Other than that the game feel is nice. What is your personal high score?

@billnotic Yeah I probably should try to fix that. The snapping back on the platform is because I didn't want/have time to make multiple hitboxes for the player so the player just end on top of it even if the they're above it.
I don't know 100% what my high score is but it is around 50 sec.

Love the aesthetic and sound effects, makes me feel like I'm playing on a GameBoy and that's a good thing. I'd recommend locking the player to the platform as it moves. The controls are quick and easy to figure out, but I found myself falling off more than getting killed by the reaper.

Death is inevitable and the fight for life is hard! I found my best strategy was to go straight left while jumping and spam the X key, hoping the platform catches me, which gets me around 20 to 25s... But I know that is not how the game is supposed to be played. I really like the art, it feels cohesive, pico8 is a tool I should try using at some point. Nice entry!

i agree with the previous comments - the platform is very slippery and hard to stay on, and some of the physics is unintuitive - but it's still a charming game and quite polished.

It's addictive! Apart from being a little too hard to dodge it is quite fun, reminds me a little of some of the hollow knight bosses (:

Great game. Very challenging, I only managed to delay death for about 25 seconds at most and staying on the platform was also a bit of a struggle, but overall it was quite fun to play with. Well done!

Graphically very nice and the controls felt responsive and tight. The physics felt a little odd to me and I found myself slipping off the swinging bar a bit but teleporting back on at the last second. Still, a fun and very challenging game with a great aesthetic!

It can be a little hard to stay on the platform though.
